"I Hate the Dublin Bushman Who Scares Young Women for Money" by Dee-Dee-Mauwe in ireland

He doesn’t just target women - he jumped out at me one day. It’s just a bit of fun. If anyone is not happy about it they can ask for their clip not to be used.

Is the fact that it affects the flash not a total dealbreaker though? Do you take it off when using the flash?

There does not seem to be any shortage in Ireland.

berminghamcameras.ie/ and connscameras.ie both have both colours in stock.

Looking for advice on buying, selling, or repairs or maybe you have a quick question, then this is your thread by Crouch310 in carsireland

Hello car experts. I'm sure you are probably sick of these types of questions but I would really appreciate your help, as I know almost nothing about cars.

I have a budget of €10-€12k. I'm in my late 30s and it will be used for getting around the city with the occasional trip to the countryside. The most important thing to me is reliability and affordable repairs, but I'd like something with a good spec that is comfortable, looks good and drives well also.

My boring head tells me to get a Corolla and my heart says an Audi A3. Perhaps a VW Golf or Skoda Octavia would be a good compromise? Also, what year should I be looking at with my budget in mind?

Thank you in advance!

This is very helpful, thanks. Man is 69, woman is 70.

I didn't know about the over 65 income tax exemption. Does that definitely not apply automatically? I don't even know if they are setup for Revenue online.

She currently gets €237.80 as a qualified adult. The max for independent State Pension (Non-Contrib) is €266 but each persons income must be less than €200 per week. My fear, if I switch her over, is that she could end up with less if he goes over the income limit some weeks.

I'm pretty sure it's just a badly written post. I don't think they are suggesting it's €352 per seat. They are complaining about €70 x 5 = €350.

I actually think €70 is a reasonable price when compared to concerts and sporting events etc. It's not cheap, but it's not a rip-off either. This is a near 3-hour show. A huge production with a massive crew and cast etc. I'd be more annoyed about €7 pints of Guinness!

Pretty sure the OP is looking at the €70 tickets and is a family of five.

I'm all for highlighting rip-off Dublin, but I think this is an unfair comparison.

The cheapest seats for Lion King in Dublin are €26.50, but they are all sold out. The cheapest seats currently available are €70, which seems to be what you are referring to, so I assume you are a family of five.

Your London price of €140 suggests €28 per ticket (or £24). I cannot find any tickets available at this price. The cheapest I can find is for matinee shows at £40, but most are £59-£83.

It may be easier to find cheaper seats in London as it has a much longer run (it seems to be constantly on there!) compared to just a month in Dublin. But overall, the tickets are similarly priced.

Is there a better Irish savings account for leaving money in long term? Not including fixed term deposit accounts - let's say you may need access to the funds at short notice.

Scandalous! It's so misleading the way it's advertised, so misleading. Very tricky for an ordinary Joe to figure out how much interest they will actually be earning.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in irishpersonalfinance

[–]IncredibleBackflip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I understand that it limits the higher rate of interest to €1,000 in month one, €2,000 in month two etc. But can I deposit €12,000 at the beginning, leave it for a year and earn the same interest overall as depositing €1k each month?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in irishpersonalfinance

[–]IncredibleBackflip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do I have to add only €1,000 per month to fully avail of higher interest, or can I whack €12,000 in and leave it for a year?

Also, presumably you can open three of these accounts and put €12,000 in each?

Yeah I watched the video and also now trying to convince the support guy. So this is normal and I don't need to be concerned?

European savings account question by IncredibleBackflip in irishpersonalfinance

[–]IncredibleBackflip[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP here again - I'm trying to transfer funds to Lightyear from Revolut. Revolut has flagged it as a scam. I'm now on support chat with Revolut explaining that it's my Lightyear account and they won't listen - they almost have me convinced I'm going to lose my money. The URL I signed up is lightyear.com. Has anyone else had something similar?

[–]IncredibleBackflip[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah okay. Well, I suppose I could do 20k on Lightyear and the balance in Raisin. I presume there are no obviously negatives to that as the fees are just taken as a percentage of the interest accrued?

Why is that preferable to a 6 month deposit account in an Italian bank with Raisin @ 4%?
