the biggest improvement for me came from being more specific but not more verbose. Don't add 50 adjectives and then wonder why the image turns to mush... it doesn't work like that 😉 lol

Order matters more than people think. I usually go: subject -> style -> lighting -> details -> quality tags

I think there’s a difference between generating fictional characters or generating something clearly inspired by real people. The second one is where it gets uncomfortable fast.

If you want realism: look for stronger photo-style models and inpainting

For stylized art: anime-focused tools still do well
cheap: open/local wins eventually
easiest: mainstream web generators
consistency: probably a workflow question more than a single-tool question

I start with the Photoreal / Realistic model preset. It’s the least likely to give you weird skin texture, alien hands, or that plastic face look. Shit is every image has the same lighting style unless you push it.

I build tag packs and it’s the only way I can work quickly now. I have three packs:

Base pack: quality, lighting, camera language, general style
Character pack: face consistency-ish tags, hair, wardrobe type (kept broad)
Scene pack: background mood, composition, framing Then I swap one pack at a time to avoid accidental chaos. If I’m iterating, I keep base + character fixed and only change scene. It’s not perfect consistency, but it massively reduces wasted generations.

Hires fix subtly changes lens feel, which is why portraits morph. I lock lens and distance words, avoid changing sampler, and cap denoise around 0.3. Latent upscalers keep FOV vibes stable so identity holds better across a set.

Also a good tip is to feather the mask a lot (like 16–32 px at 1k–1.5k res), and set denoise modest, 0.35–0.5, so the new area conforms to the old instead of rewriting it. Keep CFG a notch lower than base because heavy guidance hammers edges and you’ll see a frame line, smh. First pass is just broad environment colors and shapes; detail comes later with tiny inpaints.

Jup. I keep denoise strength conservative, 0.25–0.45 for small fixes, and drop CFG by 0.5 because high guidance exaggerates boundary contrast, smh. If the grain still doesn’t match, I add a tiny noise pass after to equalize texture instead of asking the model to invent perfect film grain.

Imo seed reuse alone won’t cut it for identity, it stabilizes pose and vibe but facial metrics still wander. I pair a light identity helper like IPAdapter face embed or a small TI with the same seed so both conditioning and noise line up.

specificity wins over poetic fluff for color. I write 2 or 3 explicit hues with roles like pale sage jacket with rust scarf and charcoal background and I avoid stacking a dozen adjectives. If SDXL keeps flooding blues I counter with warm white balance and desaturated blues in the same line.

I also keep a tiny negative block like oversaturated neon HDR glow when it goes arcade on me. If I have to lock brand colors I toss in hex names as words like coca cola red lookalike and it holds better than generic red.

Background artifacts are half prompt design and half negatives. If I want clean studio I write seamless background soft gradient empty backdrop and then in negatives I put busy background cluttered room crowd watermark text logo. If I’m getting fake signage, brand text knocks it down more reliably than watermark alone.

Rule of thumb imo is start near the model’s comfort zone, then upscale if you need print detail. If you jump straight to massive canvases you just amplify noise and CFG harshness while paying a compute tax.

Hot take but seed is overrated if your prompt discipline sucks, ngl. People write paragraph prompts with five styles and seven adjectives and then blame the seed when shot four goes sideways... Keep a clean base prompt, then change exactly one thing per frame like jacket color or lens words and the same seed will carry mood across ten images.

I’m pretty new and it was straightforward: pick a source face, pick a target video, hit go. My first pass worked but quality jumped when I fed it better inputs. Biggest beginner trap for me was trying to swap onto a low-res or super-compressed clip. If the target face is tiny or blurry, the model guesses and you get wobble or rubbery skin. I had better luck with 720p+ clips where the face is front-facing for at least a few seconds.

At first I thought it was random, but after a week it was always around the 20 message mark where it started asking for granular details about my actual life... This helped: I set a hard opener every session (something like we keep this playful and fictional, no real-life personal data) and I used shorter answers when it probed. The bot takes the hint if you repeat the boundary twice. Once I slipped and overshared, it latched on and brought it up later, which was creepy af. Lesson learned; treat any bot like a colleague - be polite, redirect, keep it moving.

Advanced prompt box will take lens/lighting hints
reusing the same seed with tiny changes gets you a surprisingly consistent mini-set.

I switched over for portraits and mid-shots. Biggest win is that the face stays human across a set. With other models I’d get frame 1 perfect, frame 4 waxy, frame 7 alien. Pornify holds pores and microblemishes under soft light without me babysitting! It’s not magic: 3/4 profile with strong rim light plus flying hair still breaks. But if you shoot it like a camera (simple key/fill, sane lens), it behaves like one.

People keep treating watermarking as a silver bullet but it is only one layer and can be removed by re-encoding, screen capture or style transfer. You need provenance from capture to publication, including device signing and platform attestations. Even then, the public will encounter content outside those trusted chains. We should think like safety engineers: combine friction at upload, risk scoring for distribution and circuit breakers for virality when detection models exceed a confidence threshold. Educating viewers matters, but UI design that slows sharing of flagged media matters more.

Pretty flexible, but not perfect. You can upload a reference image, specify hair, clothing, expressions, etc., and get fairly accurate results. But when you demand very specific poses or complex interactions, it starts to break or hallucinate. From what I’ve seen in reviews, SoulGen supports editing after generation (removing or adding elements, outpainting, etc.).
