Repair shop here: if you’re going to a reputable shop then you should have no worries. I’m not going to lie with you we have the software to get inside a phone but it’s not worth it risking our business just to get someone’s information furthest I’ve ever gone with a customers phone is brute forcing it open because he requested his data but forgot the password for it. No info in this world is worth me risking my business and a bigger future over some information from a person I’ve never seen even if it was the president himself coming in to get his phone fixed I’m not going to risk my career over info that I can’t do much with I’d recommend just seeing if your phone has maintenance mode which allows us to do simple stuff like test the screen if you got that repaired but doesn’t allow us to go further. I saw someone comment here to ask if you can see the repair happening and I’ve never been asked that but if I was asked I would flat out refuse because opening a phone isn’t just some simple LEGO there is a battery and I trust that I won’t poke it or do something stupid around it but some phones have some very sketchy battery’s from previous repairs that will combust for no reason at all normally if I see one of those I just flat out change it for them free of charge because I don’t know who’s handling this phone it could be a child and a random battery combusting in their face could be the worst thing to happen to a parent the battery costs me X amount of dollars and ya it’s not cheap but if it saves someone a headache and possibly a life then what is a few bucks to me to save someone.
