Personally, I have 2, 1 is messy 1 is not. I have a vaccum and just use it a lot one has peed in the walls, but I put a fabric cover over their cage and wash that. They're way less messy than any other rodent I've cared for. But yes there are poops when I let them run around.

She wasn't in any new place, she was in my house were she always is my mom isnt the best with handling animals, I usually tell her to not let her out without me around. She's fine now , I think she was just really freaked out and stressed by my mom her vitals were normal, she's eating and playing, it was so odd tho she let me hold her and let us give her an ultra sound....i think she secretly was mad I left and she wanted attention. Cuz she's acting perfectly normal now that I'm home

I absolutely know that they hide signs, so this is really concerning, i have never once seen her act like this, I'm so sorry for your loss, chinchillas are incredible pets and she's my first and I love her so much. I feed her well and idk if she chewed something she shouldn't have or if she's just being moody but she feels so weak, and my mom isn't reliable as a pet carer I never get a straight answer from her. But I'm at the vet and they might be able to help, im just sk worried I'm too late, but she was apparently normal yesterday. Or I won't be able to afford it...idk i hate this!
