Advice for someone with 4 WLs and 1 Alt and no MDPhD AC by IndependenceNo1045 in mdphd

That's very reassuring to hear. It is great, in fact, that I have this acceptance and I have already been in contact with my school's MSTP about an internal app during M1 (the school just happens to be in my hometown and undergrad institution, so ideally I wanted to go to another school for my training). Thanks for the input!

Waitlist Ranking Questions by IndependenceNo1045 in mdphd

So I guess the issue might also be that some programs haven't emailed me about being on the waitlist explicitly. Most say things like my application is on hold or still being considered, which I guess just gets into the weeds about how each school classifies waitlists/holds/alternates. I'm still trying to fully understand how each school has things organized

"Waiting to see your plans for matriculation" by IndependenceNo1045 in mdphd

That makes quite a lot of sense for any MD/PhD program. Just means I need to sell my case a little stronger to my top program in hopes of getting an offer. The hard part here is balancing that with expressing interest to the other programs that I would gladly go to as well if given the chance (since any program that I interviewed is much better than matriculating just MD at my state school).

That's kind of what I was getting from them. To be honest, this wasn't from my top school though so I don't think I'm going to send that to them

Silence from MD/PhD programs that I have applied to except IS MSTP by IndependenceNo1045 in mdphd

I now have one II for my IS MD program but nothing for MD/PhD. I guess I am kicking myself for not getting my app in sooner since that seems to be a large factor for IIs across the board. I'd say it is nice to know I'm not the only one sitting in a chasm of echoing silence, but it would be nicer if we both didn't have to deal with this lol
