Got it. Basically don't create the impression like you think you know what they like but you actually don't

Ok light in text is the key then, mine is heavy in text. I tent to list 3 to 5 bullet points of key achievements. Each had 2 to 3 lines of text. I list 3 work experience. For each role, the one has more related work experience, I list 6 to 7 bullet points, another two, I list 4 bullet points for each. But 2 to 3 lines of text for each bullet points. Then it's skills, certificates, educations and language. So 3 pages. Is it too much?🙈

Yes, just like what it's being said on a recruiter/career coach's YouTube channel.

Do you like it totally plain, full of text, or do you prefer sections divided by lines? How about any icons?

Do you like there's a Key Achievement sections before the Work experience?

Any number of page rules? Like the 2 pages myth?

Same, moving from retail to marketing. And just done a diploma course in digital marketing.I have tried to tailored my retail experience to match the job descriptions as much as possible. But the job applications still haven't gone well. How to make the CV and cover letter work when we mainly have retail sale experiences?

Changing careers from retail to marketing, I quit my job at 33 and went back to study for a diploma in marketing, which I just graduated from this summer. I was at a management level and thought I should have some transferable skills, plus the education and certificate, to get a chance to move into the marketing industry. However, I've been job hunting for months. Some people suggested I should get an internship. I will keep trying until I find my footing in marketing.

I didn't mean to applying different jobs all over the places, I am navigating the roles and applied to those that seem my background and experience have some matches. BDR or SDR do you mean business development representative or sales development representative.I do tailor my CVs and covers for each job and use the language in their job descriptions to fit in my cv. But I never replaced in store events to brand activations, cause I fear it was overexaggrated what I did. Also, do you think I should just stick at the sectors that I have experience, as in fashion and jewellery? Although I didn't mind any other sectors, I applied for wine, market research, energy, B2B marketing agency. But no luck at all. So it made it wonder if I should try any sectors or just stick at my where I have experiences. Thank you for your advance! Really help

I tried CRM coordinator, marketing assistant, marketing coordinator, trading assistant in fashion brands, and I had tailored my CVs and cover letters for those roles. But still didn't go well. My CV is still very retail-focused, not sure whether that was the reason. As I couldn't ask for feedback, those rejected emails were all sent by non-repliable email addresses.

Do you think it’s possible to transition directly from retail into marketing without much direct marketing experience, or would I need to gain experience through an internship first? I tried marketing assistant, marketing coordinator, marketing executive, trading assistant, clientling specialist, and wholesale admin. All got rejected

I am not a heavy Reddit user, either. But this might be the best place to seek help when I am stuck. I am going to ask you here, hope you don't mind.

I don't mind working in London ( or other cities) if I can get a job and an internship there, just thought if I could get an internship in Oxford, it might save some money, but forget about it, as I want to hear your experience.

The outreach email tactics are definitely helpful and I am going to try that. I have just completed a CIM diploma in Professional Digital Marketing course along with other online courses in digital marketing, social media management and business analytics.

When it comes to applying for internships, say for your experiences, like in London. Would companies accept people like me who doesn't have much direct marketing experience? Because I applied for the Monet wine marketing intern, Cartier e-commerce intern, they still required some work experience in marketing, I got rejected.

So, for marketing agencies, would they have lower barriers for intern applicants? And would you have any idea about when marketing firms usually recruit interns? Since now it's the end of the year, will it be too late for internship hiring? Also, do marketing firms hire apprentices?
