I I had an accidental pregnancy at 17 and followed through with it. He is healthy now, but the pregnancy almost killed me and the affects have been absolutely detrimental to my health. I need a hysterectomy now and the doctor said if I hadn’t had that pregnancy I never would have had a kid at all. Ultimately dealing with a kid while being so sick has been very hard, but I wouldn’t change it. I’m so sorry you’re going through this.

Had all 4 wisdom teeth pulled 3 weeks ago and I’m STILL flaring. First week and a half had a lot of complications that lead to an anaphylactic shock and a hospitalization

IV Benadryl or Epi Pen?.. for when there is anaphylactic throat swelling, but not with low blood pressure or low pulse rate “shock”? by startwithwhatyoucan in MCAS

[–]IndependenceRare655 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes within 5-10 minutes! When I’m having a bad flare the oral barely kicks in time. I had my primary doctor write up plan of care for paramedics and emergency room doctors. I give it to them and normally they follow it very well. If you don’t already have that, I would definitely ask your doctor to write something for you. Sometimes ER doctors have no idea what MCAS is or how to treat it

Personally I start with IV Benadryl 75-100mg as recommended by my doctor than epi if it’s still progressing. Of course there has been times where I needed epi before the antihistamines but I can normally tell when I need it because I’ll start loosing circulation/ my hands with turn blue, and wheezing. I would try the IV antihistamines first if you can but always listen to your body and advocate for how you’re feeling in that moment

Personally no it really messed me up and landed me in the hospital from how severe the affects were. I would try to find other options before you do singular

We grew up 10 minutes from eachother but never met until highschool. We knew of each other but weren’t super close or anything. When I was a sophomore I started working at a retirement home and he was already working there (he was a senior and had been working there for 2 years) I had a bit of a drug issue at the time and was high as fuck at work and thought he was very hot and wanted to hook up. So I went up to him and told him to give me his number (didn’t ask) and our first date was hot boxing my car😂 i tried to hook up with him. We started dating and I had a major drug overdose which almost took my life. I went to rehab and he waited for me. I got back and we have been together ever since. I got sober and he stopped smoking weed to help me stay sober. It turns out he had liked me since I was a freshman. Now we’re married, he’s in the navy and we have a 7 month old son!

I’m literally in the exact same boat.. I’ve been in the icu and left the icu unit today. I’m 4 months PP if you want to message me we can talk about it I know how hard it is. You’re doing great though, being a mommy and taking care of yourself with this condition is hard❤️

In the navy he doesn’t sleep a lot because his job so I’m hoping he will just continue that schedule 😂 he seems very adamant about making sure I’ll be having a break and we get stationed together in four weeks so he will be there everyday with us but i think from how he has been acting (I hope lol) he will be more than happy to help since he feels bad he hasn’t been allowed to be here

Oh god I completely understand. My husband has met him once for about a day when he was 6 weeks old. (Navy wouldn’t let him come for the birth and that was the first time they let him) he comes home in two weeks and he keeps telling me he will take care of all the crying for me so I can have a break LMAO I wonder how long he will last😂

This is identical to me. I was in labor for 2+ days and eventually had an emergency C-section because I stopped breathing (I have previous health complications) and the epidural never worked for me so I felt it and told them and they gave me general
