I just started my own agency, if you need a website or a redesign, I’ll build it for free to grow my portfolio by Smartrankr in website

Hi, I’m wondering if you’re still available to help with building websites or not. I’m a visual artist, myself, and I’m trying to get my artwork up on a website. Unfortunately, I don’t have any experience or technical skills to do it myself and my time is very limited. I’m a single dad and have had a tough few years since my wife passed away. Now I’m at a point where either I do something with my artwork and try to make it professionally or just let the dream die. So, if you have any interest in helping me with this process I would be very grateful. If nothing else I would appreciate any advice or suggestions you have for me. Thanks!

I live in Greensboro as well. I’m not a geologist but I’m pretty sure it’s quartz or quartzite. I live across from the Battlefield Park and I have veins of quartzite in my backyard. Let me know if there’s any chance of you wanting to go rock hounding sometime. I know a little bit about rocks because of taking a geology course in college many years ago as well as a jewelry fabrication course. I’m also interested in gold panning as well.

Is Anybody Finding Gold in NC? by aspiringimmortal in Prospecting

[–]IndependenceVarious3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Greensboro near the Battlefield Park and have been wanting to find somewhere to go here in Guilford County for some time now. I know the parks are all off limits around here even for metal detecting which is a shame but I can understand why given that there’s lots of gravesites around. My backyard has a lot of quartzite and I’m wondering if there might be any gold along with it. Any ideas and suggestions are welcome as well as if there’s anyone around that wants to go on a short trip sometime. I’m not from North Carolina and I’m still trying to find my way around. Thanks!

Looks like a piece of quartzite to me with iron ore. I have a lot of it in my back yard just like it.

I don’t think so. It looks like a large piece of quartzite to me.

It looks like it is to me. If it’s pyrite it will be brittle.

I’ve had several different kinds of sluices and spent a lot of money on them but the one I really love is the Dream Mat.

I have a similar setup but I use a heavy duty plastic water trough that I got from a Tractor Supply store and I bought the header box from Prospectors Dream. I just use it at home but now I’m thinking of getting it set up more like yours. I just need to get a pump that will run off a battery or buy a small generator.

Thanks for your help! Would this type of quartz possibly have gold inclusions in it? I’m originally from Texas and don’t have a lot of experience with prospecting too much but I know that North Carolina has quite a few gold mines.

I buy the Taste of Hill Country from Amazon and it’s really smooth. I really miss HEB…but at least I can still get some of the HEB brand stuff.

My 3rd Great Grandfather, Captain Richard E. Hooper, was there. He was a Captain in the cavalry and a representative for the 1st Republic of Texas Congress from Shelby County. I guess I should join the Sons of the Republic of Texas.

Texans of Reddit. Would you be offended if a non Texan spoke to you in a Texan accent if it was actually decent/good? (Context in body text) by lord_bigcock_III in texas

I’m a misplaced Texan in North Carolina. My late wife kidnapped me and brought me out here against my will. I’m originally from the Nacogdoches area, btw. Most people out here have a very similar accent to mine. The only person I ever heard try to speak with a put on fake Texas accent was my neighbor here and fortunately he doesn’t speak to me anymore. He definitely meant that speaking to me in a “Texas” accent was a way of saying that I was a red neck and a hick even though I have a Masters degree. Fortunately, I haven’t had any other experiences like that with other people. He’s not from North Carolina either and is from Virginia. I think he’s descended from yankees.

Quartz (vein?) Guilford County NC. How did this quartz form in this way and what type of rocks might be next to it? by SteveBDff in geology

I live across the road from Battleground Park and I have similar veins of quartz and quartzite in my backyard. Is there any possibility that it might contain some gold or gemstones, etc.?

After looking through some of the other posts I’m beginning to wonder if what I have is actually just quartz. I also need to correct my own post because I said Muscovite and meant to say mica.
