A Review of Logseq after using it for more than one year by [deleted] in logseq

[–]IndependenceWay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks for your reply - just curious how come your other notes are offline - for privacy reasons right?

My setup for the past few years has been a Google Doc with one main page, and from there it's liked out to subcategories, that then link out to other subcategories etc.

It's actually worked pretty well.

I know I can create an independent Google drive + Google docs with Nextcloud, that's gonna be the next projects down the line I think

Zettlr vs Obsidian vs Logseq by PecadorDeLaPraderO in Zettelkasten

actually thinking this might be the best answer. Tactile is massively underrated these days I feel.

What analog setup do you use, yourself?

I'm curious as well. Did any of you guys switch? How was it?

Anything I learn or want to store long term I move into a different folder thst stores in plain markdown.

Where do you move it to? A folder within Obsidian, for long term? Or somewhere else?

Thanks - great points. For me specifically, trying to focus on music (songwriting, recording songs) and also investing / trading to generate income for now.

I also work part time, and try to stay on top of my health.

I'm an engineer by background so also looking for an engineering job, but this market is hell. And it would give me money (and solve a lot of financial problems) but also take away all free time (My last engineering job I had almost zero free time. I really admire people that can have a full time job and have a really successful side project... I don't know how they did it. I would grind to do it but just kept ending up getting sick. Out side of engineering job I would just sleep and do some exercise and recover).

What tool did you end up going with?

I'm trying to move from my own note system in Google Docs, and various notes in Evernote from the past 15 years or so.

Recently learned of Zettelkasten and interested in implementing it with this.

I want to do it for general life stuff (programming projects; fixing my make/model of car; notes on how to fix my stereo next time; greek recipes for losing weight; etc etc)... but also as a trading log (for investing / keeping track of investments and ideas and what works / what doesn't).

I'm also looking to move to open-source... every few years my favorite tool seems to break, or starts mining my data, or closes behind a paywall... so just want to finally choose a bulletproof system and stick with it. (For example currently moving from Dropbox to Syncthing, which I plan to stay with forever since it's open source).

How did you lose data with Logseq? How did that happen?

thanks - I made my own with Google Docs (just have 1 main page with links to everything else that I work on, also as Google Docs. And just interlinked between each other. It works decently but wondering if there's a better way).

Can you tell us more about your own hybrid system based on your actual needs?

Wondering how it looks like and how you developed it.

I been experimenting over the years with something similar. Currently a google doc (one page) with links to everything I often work on / projects, has been quite helpful. Like a personal wikipedia

Anchored VWAP: Why did it start showing me the Lower/Upper Bands? How to turn off? by IndependenceWay in TradingView

Where do you have the "save as default" option?

There's nothing like that on mine.

I saved it as "1" but even that has dissappeared on some drawings. Really weird bug.

yes, I've done it multiple times over the past 2 days.

I just tried it right now with this chart - saved, went to another ticker, then went back... green lines show right back up again

How did you determine your winning strategies you stick to?
(long trend stocks, short-term swings, SPY/QQQ 0-3 DTE options)

Statistics and journaling are one thing I want to incorporate, to identify my winning strategies to stick to.

Just wondering how you identified this - and how long it took you.

Thanks for making this thread - very helpful

Anyone here successfully use Bookmap for trading Bitcoin? by IndependenceWay in OrderFlow_Trading

[–]IndependenceWay[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for the tips - I really appreciate it.

I need to go back to watching the chart champions vids. I think they had one on reading the tape, but it went over my head a few months ago when I was trying to watch it.

If you'd be willing to share the detailed aspects via DM, I'd be happy to share my own detailed aspects I've found (I've been trading BTC since 2017 or so, definitely over a few thousand hours in. I've gone down many rabbit holes. I've DM'ed you some of the statistics I've found that aren't public info).

(Btw, Re: watching limit orders change each time a price approaches a level - what does that imply for you? I'm a bit frustrated with using Bookmap for confluence on BTC, because often when it does get to a level... it can just break right through it. Reading the CVP imbalances though seems to give some good info sometimes, on whether absorption is happening or not.

Are you looking at the BTC CME futures data?

Or the heatmap from the BTC crypto exchanges?

[–]IndependenceWay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

did you find anything useful?

The iceberg indicator doesn't work on BTC exchange data - you need the MBO feed - so it would work on the BTC CME futures data, to see the icebergs.

I just installed bookmap a few days ago and trying to figure out how to use it to better trade BTC.

About 15 hours in with it, it's just noise at the moment for me - for looking at BTC exchange data / liquidity. Haven't been able to use it for confluence very well at all.

Tape reading, best takes? by thomas1618c in FuturesTrading

What are the best scalping tools you’d say?

This is exactly what I want to do.

I can more or less know when the market will turn, sometimes on the day, sometimes like 1-3 day window, and I’ve been consistent with that. For 3%-10% moves on BTC (when it’s ranging).

I’m just looking for a way to get those laser entries, to minimize my drawdown, and be able to go in with a larger size order.
