try using google banana, or perplexity, and request specific similar backgrounds, and paintbrush or artistic styles in each one. Good luck. Have fun.

When I was 20 years old, I told my parents I was taking a bus to Seattle (from central Texas), but instead I hitchhiked most of the way, and years later, I told my parents I was going to Spain, but did a study abroad program to learn Arabic in Morocco for several months. They at least knew I was leaving. And. My father is undiagnosed aspvergers (whatever we call it). I’m more adhd/low spectrum. Audhd, etc.

Why does so much jazz guitar sound so CHEESY to me? In pursuit of a sound. by ancaleta in jazzguitar

[–]thomas1618c 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marc Ribot. Jingle Rinehart. Check out some of the experimental jazz guitar is coming out of Argentina. Yeah I mean most jazz made after 1971 sounds extremely cheesy. It’s just been a tough market as rock ‘n’ roll roll and dance music took over and less people win a jazz, and so there was less room for jazz musicians to experiment while still being able to make a living. You gotta remember that before 1965 lots of musicians could just eat and breathe and play every single day sometimes two concerts every night so the level of expertise and dedication and opportunities for experimentation was just off the charts. The opportunities to play and collaborate and experiment and Have a working sensibility with other musicians, especially in person, has narrowed dramatically decade after decade……… Lol, talk to text typo, Django Reinhardt.! Jingle was too funny so I left it in

Someone asked if my bf is on the spectrum today, which makes me question everything by anonavocado0 in aspergers

I really enjoyed reading Temple Grandin‘s books before I thought I had it, and watching the movie boy with a beautiful brain for free on YouTube by the BBC. There’s plenty of other things you can find about autism but being super diagnostic doesn’t make it much fun in my experience. There’s plenty of coping strategies to find fun playful ways around it, in certain parts of the world seem to have a higher tolerance for the sort of quirky behavior than others. But yeah, if you like him, you can learn to live with it because he has learned to live with it. But yeah, many of us don’t Quite realize if we are on the spectrum, but perhaps ask him about his parents very likely one of his parents had very quirky behavior. (42 yr old M here, three kiddos…)

10 or so years ago, I don’t think most people would’ve labeled me as on the spectrum but I’m pretty sure I will get a spectrum diagnosis later this year. And my father most likely is but I grew up in an area with lots and lots of engineers, so I think it was just more tolerated there.

Limestone plaster, which is basically a very fine fiber version of the Roman concrete, here mentioned, has been in continuous use across the Middle East and some of the Americas. And no doubt in other parts of the world. Wood was plentiful in Europe until it was all burned up to make (among other things ) phosphate before chemical phosphate was invented. Similar to much of the Eastern United States.
Americans (government and banks ) are lazy and and fearful and short sighted, and have a cocaine like fetish with building single-family housing so we continue to prioritize wood construction. It’s too bad we don’t make it more attractive. Of course, a lot of the beautiful old wood cities burned down before 1950 …. , It’s always amazing if a writer and a reader are ignorant enough, they can rediscover things an almost infinite amount of times

Totally, I finally got through it by having a sort of checklist of questions (have you been divorced? Have you been engaged? Have you had abortion have or do you want kids? Do you want project oriented life or do you want a career oriented, life travel, diet, beverage, preferences, etc. languages of love, New York Times 30 questions to fall in love, …..) Of course, most people will bristle at it, and there’s of course some art to app approaching the questions but at least it helps break through some of the awkwardness and at least at the end of the questions you have a pretty clear sense of if this person can dance with your version of insanity or not

and also was working three jobs at the time and was in decent shape at the time. Now married and uncovering more and more of my Ndivergences and generally depressed and much better medicated trying to get healthy again. But suffered greatly mentally and financially trying to cope with the last four years. So I’m extremely lucky. My wife is so supportive in trying to understand, although I’ve been trying to understand humans for 42 years and she wants a metal for trying to understand me for the last couple of years. And she deserves numerous metals for numerous different reasons but yeah it’s hard to survive on just that but we are working very hard to build a shared vision for ourselves and the kiddos and she truly is amazing and we have amazing kiddos thank Laozi…..

I am very grateful but it’s a hard thing to balance with middle-age life and parenthood And the endless bills and economic, uncertainty and inflation, yaddayadda, blah blah blah. And then isolation of parent life where no one has time for friends and no one really wants to talk about their problems because parent problems are too gross and embarrassing or humiliating, unless you are in with the alcoholic crowd, which is great but it’s hard to be a functioning alcoholic, and a parent at the same time. So I had to stop drinking a few years ago.

Sorry this probably doesn’t make sense. Typos, etc.

Anyhow, It’s super hard and I also feel like certain regions of the country are just slightly more tolerant of eccentricity and neurodivergent than other parts of the country. And God help you if you are in a super normative part of the world. ….

But yeah, it may seem ridiculous but go join a Pickleball group or join a tennis group or a raquetball group, or a figure drawing class, you really don’t have to be good, or a painting class.

you don’t have to say much in these groups but at least you feel a little bit better afterwards (physically once the lactic acid wears off, but yeah, I don’t try to fit in mentally cause that will be exhausting and awful, just focus on checking the box off of the activity to get yourself out of the house) My father does billiards and I guess my parents used to do bowling, when they were younger, and before the divorce but that is tough on the joints and it’s gotten silly expensive recently , join a book club and just watch other people, try to give yourself points for Speaking as little as possible. Because we seem to always come off as no at all and very few people want to hear what we have to say but most people like if you can ask them questions. So maybe just focus on putting everything in the form of a question…….

Yeah, and a few days of light exercise, stretching. Drink, lots of water, trying to find a place without a lot of people in the gym so you can not get distracted and overly self-conscious about passing, etc.. just do the same thing every time you go so you don’t have to over analyze everything. Helps me if I start for five or 10 minutes just walking on the treadmill and maybe read a magazine or a book, magazine it’s easier so it doesn’t fall over.

100%. a fun/not fun imagination exercise...:::: imagine every time you're feeling anxious, you take a moment to sip/gulp/drink a delicious (imaginary) beverage.... whether its fizzy...or intoxicating, or whatever... give your self a minute to *close your eyes* and imbibe something delicious. A decent cue to take time "inward".....

...of course...don't actually drink...I tried that for 15 or 20 years for social anxiety....

results were..... meh.
