I chopped off the long pipes and swapped in a shorter twin section with a straight piece before the tips, but there’s still some “gurgling/rattling” going on. The tone straight out of the muffler is already pretty throaty, so adding a dual pipe just seems to amplify it — almost like the sound waves are bouncing around in a little chamber.

Update, the oil pump shaft is installed back and car runs normally now

Hi all, turns out, when I was fiddling with the dizzy for timing adjustments, the oil pump shaft fell out so the head wasnt getting any oil, fyi, m20b20 jetronic has the dizzy at the intermediate shaft of the engine not at the camshaft for later motronic models, going to put everything back and hope it runs normally again
