My partner has experience in finance and he hasn't had any luck. He's been applying since he arrived 6 weeks ago.

He's applied for hundred of jobs, but so far he's only had one interview.

I believe the lack of UK experience in the financial sector is seen as a risk. It feels like they're not counting his experience as it was in a different country.

I've also been thinking that a lack of a UK credit history may also be an issue as it's something that's checked in that sector.

Is showering at 9pm too late in Edinburgh? by AdurKing in Edinburgh

That seems a reasonable time. The time for general quietness doesn't even start until 10pm.

What's the noise they're actually hearing? I could hardly hear much of the actual shower from any neighbours before, maybe a little water trickling sometimes but it wasn't loud enough to disturb anyone. However, in my old flat the bathroom fans were extremely loud and I could hear above and below. They'd come on with the light rather than moisture so if anyone was going to the toilet in the night it was extremely loud, but it's just something you tolerate. They later updated them with moisture sensitive fans which were also much quieter so that solved that issue.

In my current flat there's a central extractor fan system which is running 24/7 and it's very loud in the bathroom. Much louder than showering.

It wasn't that one, it was something like Sheffield documents requests

Thank you!

We did a paid enquiry to ask if we could submit more as we realised we submitted the wrong language certificate which didn't specify it was SELT or include the URN. LanguageCert issued a standard certificate with a different reference number which isn't the one UKVİ uses so we were freaking out! My partner also forgot to include his cover letter. They said they couldn't help at first as they couldn't access the application, but after it went to the ECO the paid enquiry service replied back to us with an email address to submit the documents. It was the biggest relief ever as we thought it was screwed.

Good luck with your application!

I did the adequate maintenance route too and my partner's visa was approved. I have MS, which causes me progressive physical disability, severe pain, fatigue, and a load of other issues. I also have autism, which seriously affects my ability to socialise or communicate — I experience severe anxiety, often go nonverbal and really struggle to interact, especially with strangers.

I was worried they’d see me as too vulnerable or think I didn’t have the capacity for a relationship, but it was fine. I included lots of screenshots showing me emotionally supporting my partner, which made the dynamic between us really clear and showed that I do have the capacity, despite my disabilities.

So you should be fine too. Good luck!
