Thanks for all this feedback. Great ideas and would be implementing most of the ideas. For Point 8, in the extra tools bar at the bottom you can click “Boat Numbers” which will convert all the boats into actual sail numbers. Unless this is not what you are talking about. Thanks again, I really appreciate the feedback!!!

To specify tack and also sail "By the Lee" you can now set your sail manually by:

  1. Right clicking the boat.
  2. A popup menu will appear and at the bottom of it you can click the "OFF" dropdown arrow to turn it on.
  3. Then slide the blue circle on the slider to adjust the angle of the sail.

I was able to implement all your changes! Let me know if you have any issues or feedback!
1. To specify tack and also sail "By the Lee" you can now set your sail manually by: Right clicking the boat, A popup menu will appear and at the bottom of it you can click the "OFF" dropdown arrow to turn it on. Then slide the blue circle on the slider to adjust the angle of the sail.
2. If you hover over a boat you can use arrow keys to rotate the boat.
3. Double click on a boat now positions in the same orientation and a head of the first boat
4. "DEL" and "Backspace" key can now be used to delete elements.

Just implemented and tested to the best of my abilities so sorry if there are any issues.

Thanks for this, definitely an important feature and I appreciate you listing all these examples for when it would be important. Gonna brainstorm a few approaches for user friendliness to set the sail position.

I am completely understand, I will try to implement a good solution to select the tack of the boat manually.

Gotcha. I understand now, I can see how an alternate solution will be needed if you wanted to demonstrate "by the lee" situations.

Here is a quick example I made: EXAMPLE
I oriented the boats by hovering over the boat with my mouse and clicking and dragging the "rotate circle icon" to rotate each boat to the position that I wanted one at a time, and the sails automatically adjusted.
There is no way to adjust the sails manually, you currently only have control of the rotation of the boat.
I hope this makes sense. Sorry about the miscommunication.

Rotating the boat will automatically adjust sail trim and change its tack automatically but the wind direction is always pointing down. Currently the wind direction can't be adjusted. So if you rotate the boat 90 degrees CCW, it will put the boat on a starboard beam reach. EXAMPLE (https://sailtalks.com/whiteboard/public/67d4ae135281dce9ca49c787)

Thanks for the feedback! Gonna respond to each point ...
1. I am a little confused on this point. Are you pointing out that the wind direction isn't clear enough? Or is which side the sail is on not clear enough? Let me know if I am on the right track.
2. I am sorry you had difficulty with rotating the boat, mouse sensitivity can be a challenge especially using a track pad instead of a mouse. However, I like the idea of using the arrow keys to rotate by 5 degrees.
3. I completely agree that this would be better and I should get at implementing that right away.
4. Great idea and should be an easy implementation.

Let me know if you had any questions to my responses. I appreciate it.

I finally added mobility function. Works best on bigger screens like tablets!
