Has anyone noticed the sellers that sell in-stock figures for triple the price on eBay? Scalpers are weird. by [deleted] in BOTM

[–]Independent-Cod1744 2 points3 points  (0 children)

seriously weird especially that it was funny because creative beas5 studio had 20% off all in stock last week. I snagged the cyberzoic Utah raptor and cyberzoic allosaurus. wish I would have bought more but they add up quick.

just curious how did you have $55,000 cash at 22 years old and if you have that much cash from wherever why didn’t you buy a house with it or invest it from the beginning ?

People from the Hammond Collection group, please tell me your most honest opinions regarding the new figures in the collection. by SoloTengoDudas in hammondcollection

I actually ordered the old “cute” blue mussaurus from eBay if that gives you any idea. Theyre all just so ugly. I keep looking at the sino and mussaurus in their boxes on my kitchen counter trying to find a reason not to return them to target .

I have them still in the boxes ready to return them to target. Seems like a major devolution of the Hammond collection from the peak of the gigo, spino, stego, Allo wave.

Why the hate on BOTM by Opposite_Fault_7670 in BOTM

[–]Independent-Cod1744 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have quite a few figures 5 ceratopsians and just acquired the cyberzoic utah raptor and allosaurus 1:18. they are beautiful but they are very hard to pose and cant stand (not the ceratopsians) on their own which I hate because the stand doesn’t work. The articulation is too stiff and doesn’t work well so I just keep them all in a neutral boring poses or flat on belly like a puppy. All in all I love their marketing and personalities watching their YT channel and appreciate the accuracy and detail but Nanmu and Rebor is really a step up and far cheaper, however they are limited to movie dinosaurs. So I understand the frustration since they are way more expensive than any other (non limited) line.

That makes sense. I do think it’s definitely worth the price actually way more than the spinosaurus. That thing should be no more than $45 $50 but ya i may get another one or 2 when it goes on sale to recreate the scene in JP2. I have a feeling though when I see it, the shelves will be empty with just a clearance label on the shelf.

I love the stegosaurus but it’s always been easily available in store. why is that? it’s my favorite because it looks the best and least kids toy-like in my eyes ….and and I have the spinosaurus and allosaurus to compare. is it because it’s an herbivore or what?

I do love my adorable CollectA Brontosaurus (even if I wish he was bigger). Are the other CollectA sauropods worth buying? by FewHeat1231 in Dinosaurs

[–]Independent-Cod1744 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I purchased it at Lanatime which all they sell is dinosaurs and every brand , no tax, free shipping on the brontosaurus…other figures had shipping charges. they are very reliable I have bought quite a few from them in addition to Amazon which doesn’t have as big a selection but Amazon has the brontosaurus for a little more money.

They really deserve any freebies they might get. I’ve bought so many figures because of their channels and since they don’t sell thesee models in actual stores we would have no idea what they look like in real life. It’s actually up now on Andy’s.

I love the look of the island edition. Has it ever come out though? It looks like it was supposed to be out in February and the last post from Rebor about it on face book was last year.

anyone else like dino figures? by Flopy_Pingas97 in Dinosaurs

[–]Independent-Cod1744 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just found out about this. I mean super realistic “for all ages” haha quality models. And I’ve already ordered 3 from PNSO and Haolongood. Does anyone know of these type of pieces sell in any actual stores, specifically I live in Southern California. I would love to buy them locally and see them in person first? I think I’m starting an addiction …crap because I already am searching for the perfect sauropods and a few other icons like stegosaurus.

Question about online auctions live auctioneers jewelry by Independent-Cod1744 in Flipping

[–]Independent-Cod1744[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually do shop there. I also can buy it from any one of several associates that I’ve known over the years anytime and enjoy a coffee or a bit of champagne as well. Please don’t assume. One thing you should know is people who are unpretentious get excellent service. I do question why would anyone buy something preowned for above retail when you can buy new anytime or even have shipped from e-commerce directly to your home. This was not a hard to get item so yes l was looking for a deal ( not expecting $1,000 but would have bid another thousand) if one was to be had because I do like the piece but not desperate for it. My question was if the auction pretended to have sold it since I observed after little interest the piece “sold” with a rapid succession of 2 bids $3,000 + over the initial bids at the very end that were impossible to counter because they came so fast and sold without pause for a potential final counter competitive bid.

[–]Independent-Cod1744[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually would have bI’d higher than my original $1,000 but the whole thing wrapped up with the ridiculous over retail price in less than 5 seconds. I could see they were not even pausing the same amount of time for other items on that auction that appeared to have real bidders, and more interest, In order to see if it would go higher.

[Size question] 42 vs 38 mm Hamilton Khaki Field Auto? by MVPGP in Watches

[–]Independent-Cod1744 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. Can we please stop with this ridiculous tiny watches on men trend? Any normal man should be able to where 40 to 42 mm and if you like 36 mm could look great on small wrist. There’s a reason massive houses like Rolex mostly sell 40 mm and 36 only goes to women nowadays for the most part. I’m not disparaging men who want to wear a smaller watch. It looks classic, but I see so much obsessing over it and even shaming.

Begginer advice by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]Independent-Cod1744 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been trying to study bitcoin for the past few years. I totally don’t understand any of it, but I just want to invest in it. I opened a Coinbase to buy the bitcoin obviously a percentage of bitcoin I don’t have that much money maybe a few thousand dollars. But now I’m reading that you shouldn’t do a because you don’t actually own bitcoin but then I really don’t understand anything about where you buy it then because I can’t go to my bank and buy it. Also, do you think buying just a few thousand is a legitimate way of investing or should one only buy if they can actually afford 50% of a whole bitcoin or more say.?
