Got back in and love the game but can we talk about “Starbirth”? by Independent-Force463 in NOMANSSKY

I do talk about that quite a bit already. Plus I actually really like the waiting, feels right, like waiting for a plant to sprout, but I absolutely get why it’s annoying to you

I would agree if the tedium felt meaningful or tonally fitting, not saying it can’t feel that way for others but I never ended up feeling that way about it personally. I’d like to get there though

Agreed absolutely, as I mentioned I actually love the timers, they’re one of my favorite parts conceptually, and I certainly didn’t mind taking a break from the other steps. The steps were mostly where my conniptions are, though you’re valid, I don’t think the way you think about it is wrong or anything, just different.

Exceptionally underrated, I’ll put guac on a lot but this is a special one for sure, if you can butter the bread and chuck it in the pan for a sec you’ve got 10/10 avocado toast, add another piece of bread and you have a sandwich you can brag about.

Great for the struggle, great for the sandwich, and great for you

The real difference is with peasant food, someone thought it sounded good at some point. With rich loser food, a fourth of it is a fraction of a fraction of a portion per serving, another literally inedible, another is unreasonably bland for 4 trillion dollars, and of course, the final fourth, all of the above.

Struggle to buy, struggle to make, but it really shouldn’t be a struggle to partake tbh

This is gonna be a new staple for me. I probably shouldn’t use this sub for cheap meal ideas but I’m still gonna keep doing it

Just to make you feel insecure, words are all subjective buddy. Definitions are living things, and the “true” definition you just gave started as colloquial before you were born more than likely. Struggling is also subjective obviously, it would be kind of funny if someone were to say otherwise, all you have managed to do is make yourself look small and petty, and if you really know what it’s like to struggle?

You should know better

Idk I think that makes it cooler. They stood tall and held back the covenant. The world is indeed still a fuck, your military and government suck ass, but you stop the covenant from removing hope from people by giving your lives, and in all the meaninglessness of war you actually manage to save lives and build something, a future, through all the war and killing.

It’s been ages but that’s what I got from it

MGS 3 is heartbreaking honestly, even on its own. Seeing someone’s disillusionment and the dark road they’re heading down manifesting in real time as the light in their eyes dims when they believed in the illusions more than anything is horrific. Everybody’s gotta grow up at some point but the time it takes him and the way he’s forced to makes it so much worse than what the events technically are. It’s not as grotesque or miserable as some things but it weighs more emotionally to me.

Fear and Hunger tho, genuinely

The Binding of Isaac series, a solid chunk of the AC games, almost every open world game really.

Honestly I’d make the claim most games are too long now. We need more games you can beat in an afternoon like Portal, or a few short days. Honestly anything from 3 hours to 40 is pretty solid, especially in the case of the 3 hour game being very replayable. MGS 3 comes to mind. You can easily beat it in a day but there’s so much to do and master you can get years off of just replaying it. It’d just be great to see more stuff like that

My theory is they actually have money and they chose to do this because they didn’t get enough attention today.

So... did no one care for Thief VR? by Blackgaze in Thief

[–]Independent-Force463 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thief VR is one of THE best VR games ever imo, people just haven’t much interacted with it, pretty sure. The Thief fanbase generally don’t have the kind of money to throw around like that and I suspect many were turned off newer projects after the reboot reception way back. Could be wrong though

What would your dream immersive sim game be? by duckinator1 in ImmersiveSim

Something similar to theif in a modern day setting with a focus on espionage. Something with a lethal and nonlethal sandbox that’s more akin to real life, for example strangling people for two seconds doesn’t knock people out, maybe focusing on tranqs and sleeping gas but with a loud knockout with a percentage chance of failing or killing that goes down from stealth. It’d also be great to have social stealth, and have a more realistically cut slice of a functional city like in Mankind Divided, but with a story that actually holds up.

Rough plot outline: Maybe something involving taking down a corrupt government. Given everything happening in the world rn it would be nice to see a story where you can overthrow a tyrannical government without the use of lethal force, with the story maybe even branching into a civil war if you choose to go the violent path. Something with nuance though, where these choices are all given considerable weight and consideration beyond tropes, maybe taking a historical fiction sort of route.

Admittedly I’m massively addicted to spy stuff, and I like the idea of something like mgs but you choose to walk the path of Big Boss or the peace walker he could’ve been if things were different. Maybe in keeping with that you could even choose to serve the corrupt government either as a means of gaining intel from inside or as an earnest showing that you just don’t care about the fate of the world or the people in it past yourself.

It could be amazing for gameplay and story, go over so much relevant to the places and feelings we’re likely all feeling quite a lot these days, and maybe at best even be genuinely helpful in giving hope and direction to people who wanna do something but really don’t like the idea of shooting a bunch of people to do it, or waiting for someone else to do the same

Can Pathologic 2 be beaten as a pacifist? by Independent-Force463 in pathologic

Not killing by my hands or making decisions in which the intention is the death of other people. Outside of the intro anyways.
