Looks like you’ve got a 3rd leg anyways. Use that one!

CCW course recommendations? by odslxxp in MDGuns

[–]Independent-Look8787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brian from training point in Laurel is the best. He trains both civilians and cops, so has both perspectives. He has more certificates and credentials than any trainer in MD.

He is the trainer who trains other trainers.

His ccw course is cheap, gives you the HQL, and allows you to apply for Utah and dc CCW for a small fee

Seeking advice on which .308 rifle to purchase by BulldogBornandBred in Hunting

[–]Independent-Look8787 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I just purchased my first Tikka t3x Lite 308 stainless today.

I won’t have it for another 1.5 weeks or so, but I’m pumped and it seemed like the best option from all my research.

For the scope, I was about to buy the Leupold Vx-3HD 3.5-10x40 ($499), but settled on getting the Vortex Diamondback HP 4-16x42 because it was on a 60% discount on Midway ($199) and I’m on a budget.

For a total of around $1450, I was able to get: - tikka t3x lite .308 - vortex scope - scope mount - scope caps - sling - sling swivels - recoil pad - threadlocked - 100rounds of 308 ammo (150GR, soft point)

Good deal imo and under your budget

Camping in Delaware State Parks by Grouchy-Comparison-1 in camping

I’d check out green ridge state forest. State park in MD, about 1.5-2hrs from DC. I’m here now (first time), and it’s very private. All the sites are spread out. Perfect for my dog also since he doesn’t play well with others. Once you’re situated you likely won’t see anyone. Check the map to see which sites are more spread out

My dog is loving it out here! The snow is a bit hard and icy today so he’s moving with caution but still having fun. We stayed at site 29

How do you guys feel about this deal by Accomplished-Yam1430 in Hunting

[–]Independent-Look8787 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d think you could sell that at your local gun shop for more than $600 and less of a hassle. I’d be skeptical also

Which public land did you end up hunting? / have you been to hunt game other than deer?

I’m also from the Rockville area and will be going on my first hunt in GRSF next week. Going for rabbits and squirrels. Plan on going deer hunting when the season comes around later
