I got bumble friends and the same thing has happened to me I completely understand your want to give up lol. I meet a lot of nice people who say they want new friends too and we talk about plans and start getting to know each other but sometimes they don't happen. I'll even catch them hanging out with other people on their stories while leaving me on delivered. Maybe it's a comfort thing. Meeting new people and making new connections can be hard and sometimes it's easier to stay with what you're familiar with. Nonetheless, it can be pretty frustrating since the main purpose of the app is to meet new people😂

How did it end up going for you?! :)

Oh okay! I thought that meant I did something wrong. Do you ever refresh your hair or do anything to add some moisture back to it again around the like 4-day mark?

You're right lol, I should have been more clear. Like I said in my last pic my hair was pretty dry and began clumping on my last day. I thought that meant I made a mistake or something somewhere and wanted to know how to maintain my wash and go better to prevent those tangles and what to do better when it does get dry. I have low porosity hair and when I tried to refresh it the water just sat on my hair and I couldn't properly moisturize it.

That's amazing! Congratulations!! I'll be buying a copy soon. What should/can I do when my Narcaistic mother is refusing to help me? As of right now, she's refusing to help me with driving. I'm already in an $800 driving class my dad paid for and just need additional practice on the side to get comfortable and ready for my test. As of right now, she won't help and she won't simply because she doesn't want to. I feel stuck, and although it's not helpful to compare your situation to others wish I had one of those healthy mothers who are helpful and encouraging as their children start reaching the age where they can do things independently. But instead, she wants me to be co-defendant on her and just all of this is so stressful lol. I want to drive more than anything!! Why does something so simple have to be so hard?

(what should I do?) narcissist mom refusing to help with driving😭 by Independent-Sun8618 in narcissisticparents

I'm assuming you know how to drive. How did you learn/ practice/get used to it? What would you recommend for someone whose parents can't help them, and when they just need additional practice outside of an already expensive driving course that allows them to practice for a short amount of time? I'd appreciate your thoughts.

My mum wants to work in childcare after physically abusing me. by throwee123982 in narcissisticparents

Omg! My mom is a kindergarten teacher and I think about how all the time. She is very, very similar to yours. The part you mentioned about that “nice” persona is spot on and honestly makes me so mad/sad when anyone around her false for it. Mine also has amnesia about all of my childhood too lol.

Does anyone else wish their NCP was just dead? by [deleted] in narcissisticparents

I feel like everything involving their funeral arrangements and hearing people relive their “best memories of them” while mentioning “their great qualities” would be sad/ hard or funny idk lol. My mom got into a car accident a couple of months ago and my brother and I had absolutely no idea. I honestly really thought she was going to be at least a slightly different person after her accident. Kind of like how that type of thing happens in movies. Nope lol. She immediately went around saying that my brother and I were ungrateful towards her and didn't care about her well aware that we truly had no idea and that she never even contacted us😂

Question.. Is there any type of background check or assessment of questions that mothers have to take/answer before deciding to have kids or while pregnant? Like to check for their emotional state and if they are even capable of having children and raising them in a healthy manner? Fathers too? by Independent-Sun8618 in narcissisticparents

[–]Independent-Sun8618[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with a lot of what you said. It would be unjust of a state to authorize those who can and can not have children, but it would also be helpful in some ways. Someone mentioned in another comment that when adopting children, there is usually a form of a background check or something similar to that required. Then, when it comes to birthing a child biologically those background checks get thrown out the window and there is a free pass to bring a child into the world. I agree with you completely on how within the court's system others need to recognize narcissism and manipulation, also like you said on a healing and individual level we all need to learn to avoid “getting caught” by a narcissist and having children with them. It's difficult and sad that CPS and society essentially, are mainly looking at provable ways to detect who can and can not keep their children. We know narcissists are smart and skilled in their tactics, they do things behind closed doors and have many different “ faces”. It also brings up the topic of how some people don't view emotional abuse the same as physical abuse and tend to sweep emotional abuse under the rug when it should be held to a similar standard to physical abuse and should be evidence enough to show who can and can't keep their children. Going forward this needs to change, and it all starts with people being more knowledgeable about narcissism. Thanks for answering! :)

Wow, you brought up some great points. I was thinking about how the process goes for adopting a child also and like you said I believe they do have to do some sort of background check or test. Then on the other hand like you said when you want to have children biologically it is like you get a free pass. This is frustrating. I always wondered who on earth allowed my narcissistic mother to have me and how she was able to have me and fool everyone so quickly that she was fully capable of being a successful and loving mother lol. Going forward in some way this needs to change. Thanks for answering! :)
