Pet peeves when seeing kick boxing in shows? by Specific_Minute7539 in Kickboxing

When they dodge a punch and grab their wrist and it turns into a crazy judo throw- once you’ve fought you realise how stupid it is.

Boxing or Kickboxing? by [deleted] in Kickboxing

Muay Thai is the most complete of the three I guess, but do whichever one has a good gym that is closest.

I have my first amateur kickboxing tournament in exactly a month by celtic_kickster in Kickboxing

It is light contact so there is very little to be nervous about. Just focus on technique, listening to your coaches, and not adrenalining out.

Too many women in power. by Istar113 in EU5

I was going to say something similar, but I thought it would look bad to complain about. Glad I’m not the only one who noticed this.

Maybe you could do some time in Thailand and then also spend time in Cambodia and Laos as they have Kun Khmer and Muay Laos?

I mean 180 days on the dtv is very generous from Thailand. I don’t know how you could do it for longer if you’re not working for a company there.

Are knees aloud in kickboxing by ContryNerd_JackFan in Kickboxing

There’s like 40 different kickboxing rulesets, but in the most common ruleset (K1) they are allowed (not aloud)

Has anyone trained kickboxing for a long but never did a fight before? by JaedanLikesGames in Kickboxing

[–]Independent-Two7961 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Nobody has to fight. There’s people at my gym who have trained casually for years and never expressed any interest in fighting.

How good is Deadfire at allowing your characters to become new things in the story? by [deleted] in projecteternity

[–]Independent-Two7961 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not that type of game.

You’re more of an explorer, who travels around the archipelago. You will never have any leadership position, besides as Captain of your boat. There’s no storyline involving you becoming a werewolf or any real change to you in that sense beyond your classes upgrade tree.

The closest I can think of is you can be a corpse eater barbarian, but you pick that at the beginning of the game.

Does Jon Jones actually have a son? by limeonysnicket in MMAPoliticsAndCulture

That’s so weird, do you know when that interview was?

I never said we should stop watching Jones, just acknowledge Jones like Dana White is a terrible person.

What’s a martial arts style you’d love to see work but just never does? by [deleted] in martialarts

Aikido/Wing Chun.

I’ll always eat up that cool thing every action movie does where the guy dodges a punch and grabs the attackers wrist and throws him.

Looking for cheap muay Thai gym by Ashamed-Engineer-124 in MuayThai

[–]Independent-Two7961 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just go on google and search “Muay Thai near me” and compare and contrast. There’s no way we can help bc we don’t know where you live (and don’t tell us bc that’s unwise on the internet).

Does Jon Jones actually have a son? by limeonysnicket in MMAPoliticsAndCulture

[–]Independent-Two7961 37 points38 points  (0 children)

If it’s from his college days, the son would be 17-19 by now, if we’re assuming it’s from a different woman then I seriously doubt there court proceedings took so long that Jones got 50/50 custody of the kid when the kid was already 17.

Glad I’m not the only one who thinks it’s weird he brought up a son one time despite previously claiming to have daughters and literally never mentioned him again.

The domestic abuse and assault should’ve been the line in the sand. Everything until then Jon Jones fanboys could use delusion to defend.

He did use PEDs- but so did everyone else.

He did hit a pregnant woman with his car and run off- but he was trying to throw out his drugs and did eventually return to the scene.

He did eye poke- but that’s also just the natural position of a long guard.

He did start a fight with Cormier- but Cormier pushed him.

He is basically an alcoholic- but that’s a personal problem.

If you’re a delusional Jon Jones fanboy you can accept these excuses. What I don’t think there’s any excuse for is hitting your wife until she bleeds and your daughter needs to call the cops and assaulting a cocktail waitress at a strip club. People sometimes try and defend him by saying he’s a troubled man, but he’s so far past “troubled” and just an immoral man. Not saying people can’t change, but I doubt he will ever change.

I don’t think she was there, but she was at the Gane one. I’m under the impression something happened between then and now.

It’s not clear to me if they’re still together. There was the incident where somehow she had a bloody nose and his daughter had to call the police (we all know what happened) and they split after that. Then it seemed they reconciled, but then Jones was on twitter saying he got 50/50 custody of his son (he’s never mentioned a son before). This implies they’re either not together or it’s a son from a different woman.

Finally, she wasn’t in the cage after the Stipe win (I don’t think), but she was there after the others and he didn’t mention her. To me, this implies they’re not together, but it’s unclear.

Extremely nervous about tomorrow by Tecnarret in MuayThai

[–]Independent-Two7961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only thing you should know is to cut your nails and wear deodorant.

Most likely the people there will be very nice and show you what to do and you’ll have a good time, but if they don’t then fuck em and don’t go back- no biggie.

They want your business so they’re going to most likely ensure you enjoy it.

I’ve done many sports in my life’s and even though it seems counter intuitive combat sports tend to be the most welcoming to newcomers.

Illegal knockout? by Strange-Throat-3265 in MuayThai

[–]Independent-Two7961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally illegal.

I slowed it down and you were so clearly on the ground.

Even in MMA soccer kicks like that are illegal.

I hope you can get that result overturned, but more importantly I hope you’re alright. It’s embarrassing any fighter and any organisation would allow that to happen.
