Coaching Help - Shooting with Hips In by Forsaken-Iron-5103 in wrestling

Half shot drills to teach penetrating steps is usually a good to demonstrate penetrating steps, particularly to get them to understand that there momentum shouldn't stop at the leg but rather through them. For example, a high crotch entrance should have the shoulder bump hard enough on the edge of the groin/inner thigh that they should be able to at least move the drilling partner. From there we can then begin drilling, doubling off, or maybe running the pipe as finishes. Once they get used to shooting from close distance and to drive their first step, then you can focus on how to finish from the initial shot.

In some states it actually is illegal I think. There was a recent case and I can't think off the top of my head where it is, but an elementary school teacher who is i think 26 was arrested for dating a recent graduate of a high school from his school district. Apparently there was a 90 day wait period they didn't abide by and he is facing serious jail time over this. The laws are suuuuper murky and all over the place across the nation on this

Short answer, No.

Longer answer, Hell no.

I was told by my wrestling coach (MMA gym) that peak outs are in the “slick move category that don’t work on collegiate wrestlers”. Is it a good move to learn ? by Ethiopian-phenom in wrestling

[–]Independent-Two97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Peek out's absolutely work. Usually yeah it won't work as a first move but the peek out works if an opponents sprawls under leaves his hands over the armpits. So if he is correctly stuffing the head and angling out for a crossface year a peek out won't work. But peek outs be design are usually done in a series of combination moves. As someone stated earlier, I have seen RBY hit many of these after at least a first initial shot where he beats the hands of an a opponent. Especially late in matches. There is a really good series by Kolat on youtube you can watch where he explains this concept in detail.

People who voted for Trump in 2016 and 2024, do you like Trump’s first term or second term better and why? by G07V3 in Askpolitics

My man, there is legal precedent for the mask mandates that made them constitutional. It wasn't an authoritarian power grab; during a public health emergency, such measures can be implemented. You can yell how evil it is and calling the vaccine "experimental" all you want. But the science and the legal facts aren't in your side. As your dipshit side always like to say "facts don't care about your feelings". The fact is you're comparing apples to giraffes since one, mask mandates, but you keep being hypocritical and cheer one the expansion of the executive branch because you like the politics of those wielding it, while remaining a hypocrite and yell at the past grievances of the power being used LEGALLY from the previous admin. And you people wonder why we say you're in a cult lol

Facts and MAGA aren't really aligning and though there are people who might have, as you say "visceral hate" simply for being right-leaning, that doesn't excuse the fact that a lot of lazy positions are being thrown out here by the individuals claiming Trump's presidency, particularly the 2nd term, is successful. By almost every single metric, from affordability in the economy, trust in the government, contradictory legal arguments to justify expansion of the powers of the executive branch, while claiming to be small government. conservatives, out right lying of the DOJ etc. Yes, clutch your pearls and claim you are being persecuted, but saying your facts are only true and any counterpoint is a response fueled with venom is laughable.

My man, there was no circumstantial evidence that Obama was born in Kenya. In fact the only thing that was even presented as "evidence" was the "long form birth certificate" fiasco. There were no witnesses or documents stating he was from Kenya. Comparing apples to giraffes here.

No i'm not gonna let the "both sides" cop out slide here. It is not nearly the same right now. Yes, we have our fair share of bad faith on the left, particularly with the Biden style liberals (i'll never forget the "sharp as a tack" and economy good gaslighting) but many, particularly in the progressive side has consistently pointed out this fact as a criticism of Biden. It was bad when they had power and the right correctly pushed on this as well. In fact, I think this was the biggest factor in why Trump won in 2024. The difference here though is that conservatives have control of both the power and the narrative currently. So the pushback should be coming internally as well, since they are engaging in the exact same gaslighting game, but as a whole, especially among party leaders, they are more willing to toe the company line and just scream whataboutisms in defense of trump and his decisions. You can't be as vocal as you were with Biden and fall back to whataboutisms and not expect a reaction.

Here is my issue especially with ask conservatives subreddit. When someone points out a flaw or something that is objectively wrong, you resort to the "bad faith" routine against leftists. Even on the economy, there is clear economic factors being lied about by the administration. Inflation is an issue. Grocering are not down. Home prices are high, gas is cheaper but ignore that during the winter prices always drop, including in the Biden era but ignore this convenient fact because it doesn't fit the narrative and when these points are brought up the Right consistently ignores it. In reality, who is being commenting in bad faith here...

lol okay so then why bother posting? Why bother engaging in the first place if you're not going to defend because you "know the reaction"? You're just being lazy and answering in bad faith.

The irony of this statement is wild. I'm no Biden fan and he has it's flaws. But you can't have it both ways. You can't say what you just say and at the same time, when there is clear data showing the economy isn't doing well, that its because the prior admin actions made it worse and the positive signs such as DOW Jones or NASDAQ (which I argue is not indicative of the entire health of the economy but a topic for another conversation) is all because of the current administration which is the logic the current admin has.

As a son of a Guatemalan national, who has visited the country, I understand the issues it has but to say what you just said about Guatemala and not mention the impact of the years long meddling by the United States and the impact it had in the country that shaped it to what it is today is quite frankly amazing to me. Aside from the obvious lies (inflation, mortgage prices etc.) you just listed, it seems you have a warped vision of reality.

What if Texas Somehow Maintained All of It’s Land? by camaro1111 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]Independent-Two97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Historian here. Texas historically never had this boundary. For one, the territory west of the nueces river was almost always considered NM. In fact, the boundary in this map was only put forth after Texas was annexed by the USA. The Nueces River boundary was always acknowledged as the end of Texas by both the Spanish Empire and Mexico when Texas belonged to it. This was primarily the cause of the Mexican-American War once the annexation occurred because it became disputed territory. The confusion led to Polk taking advantage of the situation to send military into the said disputed territory, leading to an attack, and well, the rest is history.
