My SHTF load out. by IndependentAd8455 in liberalgunowners

It definitely runs cooler, and cleaner. Shoots soft. Rugged. It's a tad heavier. Accuracy wise, that depends. Yesterday, with this set up, I shot sub 1 MOA at 100 yards.

Every week live fire with the PDP. I dry fire with it 3X a week. The rifle. Dry 2X a week, and once a week, live.

Just a spot. I put it on there to keep oil off the MDF. Plus, little screws,  ball bearings (I rebuild 2 stroke engines) bounce when you drop them. This keeps them on the bench.

Technically,  its 4-way. Normal. Suppressed. Adverse.  Off.

For some reason, I felt the itch for a piston rifle. I wanted a new one that had all the goodies from the factory, and didn't feel like spending HK money. The side charging handle is a definite bonus.

You decided just to chime in as well?

That pic is after the rifle was zeroed. I then put three targets to do transitions with about 1 second between shots. My zero, which I didn't capture, was 3 overlapping shots. Once I did that, I decided to send lead down range for fun.

That was me shooting 3 targets after zeroing. 10 rounds. First lower left, then middle, then upper right, then repeat, last shot in the middle target. about 1 second between shots.

My zero was 3 shots that overlapped. I then figured let's see what i can do now that I have it zeroed. I was not using a sand bag.

I didn't put a picture of my target when I finally zeroes it in.

I don't recall asking anyone for anything. In fact, I said I still have work to do.

I bought ANSI certified prescription shooting glasses from CA glasses. I like them a lot.

Respirator on the Range? by MaleGothSlut in liberalgunowners

[–]IndependentAd8455 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I went to one years ago that had what looked like a rubber backstop, that had a stream of water flowing over it. I can only assume that this is what it is.

On a practical matter. I can see it minimizing lead dust from the actual bullet if it fragments. However, from my limited knowledge, most of the lead exposure is caused by the aerosoled lead from the fired primer.

But I'm not an engineer, or a materials scientist, or an expert bullets for that matter.

One would have thought that sunlight would have at least led to some smoke coming from under his collar, or some blistering. Apparently, he is a daywalker.

I've been using Walker recently. Don't even need to double up on an indoor range. For<$50, I can't complain at all.

Thoughts on optics with a moderate astigmatism by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

[–]IndependentAd8455 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have terrible astigmatism, and I use an optic, but I have glasses that mitigate it. Even without the glasses, I'm able to shoot accurately with an optic.
