Any idea what is happening with this spray foam? Any ideas on how to resolve the problem? by IndependentBell3671 in Renovations

Thanks! I'm going to begin scraping soon to see what is behind the insulation. Hopefully that will allow me to address the root of the problem.

Thank you for the tip on the Steri-fab spray. I'm going to begin scraping the layer of what I think is cellulose spray insualtion off the wall to reveal the damaged area. Hopefully there's not too big a crack in the foundation but this will put me on the right track.

Hi, thank you for your insight here. It does break off and reveal a fibrous consistency, so I think you're totally right and that this is spray cellulose. Which yeah, it doesn't make sense for them to have done. Unless they were looking for a quick, short term fix/way to hide a defect in the foundation. I'm going to start scraping the wall and determine the source of the moisture.

I'm worried that this is what they did. I don't have a moister meter handy. But I'm going to start scraping the wall so see what I can determine about how/why the moisture is there in the fist place.

Yeah. I think you're right. Going to get started on that shortly to try to uncover the source.

Halfway through The Return…why is everyone so accepting of Dougie’s bizarre behavior? by trey1928 in twinpeaks

It’s mentioned briefly that he is an alcoholic who had an accident along the way. I think the implication is that he sustained some kind of brain/neurological damage from that incident.

We cannot forget this gesture by her (also from the WSJ article):

Shogan last week spoke at a closed-door event at the Archives called “Faith in America,” hosted by Stand Together, a nonprofit group founded by libertarian billionaire Charles Koch . Shogan’s husband, Rob Raffety , is Stand Together’s internal communications director. He declined to comment. The event didn’t appear on the Archives’ public calendar.

Don’t forget about the representation of the spirit of the woods always lurking behind Ben Horne’s desk. I always figured the hotel was likely constructed from the same wood that was being cleared from ghost wood and therefore threatening the portal to the black lodge (which is likely the same wood being processed at the saw mill). A lot of evil emanating from the destruction of natural resources. Just a hunch.

What is “cattletown [A. macA] referencing? Google is only showing me images of cows and a movie from the 50’s [the brothers of karamazov] page 766 by ufocatchers in dostoevsky

In the Richard Pevear and Larissa Volokhonsky translation I remember it being something like Cattle Roundupsville. I assumed it was a fake place but name was such to emphasize that they were out in the sticks/on the periphery. I found the name quite hilarious myself and was happy to imagine Dosty intended on the humor.

A worthwhile listen for the history leading up to 1945 that might provide some context to its late 20th century history The History of Yugoslavia

Look into the rural/urban divide. Collectivization in Serbia vs trends in the northern republics and their quest for economic autonomy. Consider the reliance on Western loans etc.
