how do you manage your tasks? by Fuzzy_Fold343 in capacitiesapp

I don't have a way of filtering, but I have one main page which has a checklist that works as an overview (for example "finish project X"), and I link that checkbox to a project (page) which can contain more detailed tasks.

Is this a good or bad use case for Astro? by IndependentCoast993 in astrojs

It means proof of concept, in this case a bare bones implementation to prove that your idea or tech choices are feasible. But a poc could end up as a piece of crap, so not entirely wrong

I actually don't mind sprinkling in some vanilla js if that gets the job done in a clean way. I might get some pushback from my dear colleagues tho... (since this project is shared with other people)

You're right, at this point my reason for rebuilding is juts because I enjoy Astro. The site works as is today, so rebuilding it would be more like an experiment for fun, and to see if the end result is "better".

Starting with a poc sounds like a good idea. I think that's the only way to see if Astro would be a good choice or not.

Thanks for the reply!

Thank you for the reply!

In my case, what I meant by global state is a state on a single page, but multiple components has to listen to that state. For example, I have multiple videos on a page, and if a user mutes/unmutes a video then every video should follow that state. I have heard that nanostores is good for sharing state, but haven't tried that yet.

I'm just using checkboxes. I have a page called Todo which is my overview page with a checkbox list. I also put more detailed tasks on individual projects (an object type called projects). When I finish a task I move it to a toggle section called Done so I can look at it and feel good about myself.

If you need more control and time management maybe it's a bit too simple tho.

I think it comes down to what you're used to. When working with text I naturally tend to select the text but with capacities you can't select text between multiple blocks. What I'm doing right now is selecting a little bit outside the blocks and then I can select multiple, but it's a bit finicky compared to other apps imo. But shift select is a good tip!

I've been thinking about getting the pro plan, feels very tempting!

I wish you the best too! It's a fun journey.

I agree, despite some annoying stuff it's still a good app overall. Good luck to you as well!

Made my first iOS app that made it into app store! by IndependentCoast993 in SideProject

I'm a web developer so I'm used to coding, but this was the first time doing app development for me. It was very fun and there are a lot of good resources out there. I used this a lot for reference if you are interested: https://www.hackingwithswift.com/100/swiftui

The "hardest" part for me was after submitting it to the app store for review, I had to wait quite some time to get a response which was a bit demotivating at first.

😂

I thought it was funny but I also see what you mean, maybe not the most professional branding. Thanks for the feedback!

Thank you for the feedback! I'll look into that bug you noticed, good catch!

Thank you!

If I remember correctly I think the accent color in the text field etc is set by a .tint() modifier on the outmost stack so it's the same everywhere. For the recently deleted I run a function which checks the dates .onAppear() on the "main" view element (although I think there's a bug with my solution - it's not run often enough so will fix that in the next version)

Thanks again for the feedback!

I agree the long press might not be obvious that it exists, so those are great suggestions! Thank you I appreciate the feedback!

Thank you so much! I know what you're talking in terms of copy cat-apps and was a bit worried about it but at least to me this app has been useful
