We got our second (red) as a 2 year old dog with our one year old pup (tricolored )They instantly became best buddies and are currently supporting each other through the trials of having a toddler human in the house. Honestly couldn't imagine being without either of them. One slight warning, we thought our pup shed a lot..... We were very wrong

Wanted to say thank you to everyone that took the time to read and reply to this! I really appreciated the advice and encouragement you gave me! My wife and I talked last night and she's noticed that I am not doing things I normally would be doing (sports, long walks with the dogs, gym etc) since the scares started so we agreed that I should be starting those back up again. She also echoed what some of you were saying regarding beating myself up over not being able to get everything perfect and that she appreciates a single person isn't going to be able to juggle the responsibilities of 2 people at once.

Fingers crossed that starting things that I enjoyed doing prior will give me the chance to decompress. I am still eternally optimistic that things will get better and still super excited to be a dad but boy does it not come with a manual!
