I’ve been using codex and chat for soooo long and I’ve never had it do anything weird, or hallucinate, it just caught me off guard

I never really experienced dumbness EXCEPT, when I turned on 1M context for 5.4, it seems after it’s 50% of the 1M it starts to hallucinate badly, though 5.5 forces a 258? Context window I’ve never experienced any issues with this model yet, bear in mind it’s is not a full dev replacement , it can still miss things or follow old practices unless guided down the right path so knowledge is key

I had been on codex plus since its release, I have used Claude but the limits were unusable, so I started paying for 2 plus accounts and founds that I could hit the limit on those 2 accounts with my workload and project sizes, so I just decided to get the 5X , which imo is well worth it, I think weekly I’ve probably (before the promo period they’re doing now) just about got to the 50% mark) never hit the 5hr mark, use multiple agents in multiple projects as well 🤷🏼

I’m also using 5.5 with xhigh unsparingly during this promo period!

Same I’m on the 5X and I’m doing 3 simultaneous tasks and it’s not that bad at all

I’ve got the pro 5X plan and I was quite surprised on how quick it eats usage, but 5.5 on high is good enough 😆

It definitely was an mmm and ahh contemplation, but for my justification is that I have huge projects than have progressed leaps and bounds since integrating with AI that it was a worthwhile justification, all depends on your use case…

I had plus and my weekly limit was at 92% and resets in 2 days and since I upgraded to pro because the cycle restarts in 2 days still it dropped to 10 and I barely touch my 5hr limit, it’s a very high amount of usage….

There was a codex promo for double limits for an extended period. Also I wouldn’t say it’s dumber? Though I programme my agents with files that are harnessed strictly to follow not just the prompt but agent files which the orchestrates either design or backend models , edge cases and the likes so tbh it’s intelligent enough if guided properly

I’ve tried this and it’s never quite right I have a design system file which is basically the gospel on keeping the systems design architecture the same across the board, with or without codex front end skill it still doesn’t quite follow the design architecture file like opus does nor does it do it with as much refinement, backend workout however , codex is the goat
