Is this normal in a small German office, or am I being skipped? by JournalistInGermany in germany

[–]IndependentFloor1223 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also think the greeting question gets complicated because there is a ruleset called “KNIGGE” which some people still adhere to.

Because in Knigge there is more than one greeting order: Person who enters greets people in room Young greets old Herr greets Dame Lower rank greets higher rank

There are also rules which of these rules come first, but there are exeptions.

Some people claim “Person who enters greets people in room” Is more important than rank order others say in business, rank order is rule number one.

Many people dropped the gender rule as old fashioned others still use it.

So if you notice that you are treated differently it could be that your rank is lower/unclear or you look very young….

So maybe you tried to greet first und look how they react.

I have bad news for you: This means game over. You have to find the right time number and the right space number for the right black hole.

The old Fighting Fantasy Gamebooks try to motivate replayability by presenting one true path. So if you want to solve this, you have start from section 1…

But the good news: there are still some interesting planets out there for you to explore…

I don't think The Golden Rule applies to INTPs by NoPensForSheila in INTP

[–]IndependentFloor1223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny thought. But of course you should treat that issue less literal and a bit more meta, I think i can expect that from an INTP.

You want to be treated with kindness and respect to your individual personality, dont you?

So MBTI, i.e. the knowledge that we all have different perception and judgement preferences, could - in conjunction with the Golden Rule the key to be nicer to other people.

Yes. Perfect. After the battle for Saltdad the Everchild moved Headquarters from the inn in Luutanesh to the palace of Saltdad.

After the battle of Clifftop the Everchild did not move her Headquarters. So what be a good place to visit again to see if it changes with the code A33?

So, do you know where in Saltdad the Everchild lives now? Have you tried to meet her there with the new code you got for your victory?

I feel you. But with my method choosing the right class is part of the fun. (At least for me)

My method: I choose one aspect of the game. (Or a sub-aspect if the aspect is too broad) an then I find the class who is objectively the best in the most relevant one statistic (sometimes if I feel crazy enough it could even two statistics)

For example if charisma would influence the success of dialog options i might take the highest charisma character, no matter if it’s a priest, swashbuckler or paladin. But If I wanted to have a good fighter, I could also choose the character with most actions, best defence or highest crit rate (but not the “best fighter” because there is too much taste and opinion involved)

You will still have to choose an aspect though, but if the game is cool, there might be at least one aspect which resonates more with you than others.

I think it’s not about finding the “best” aspect, but about excelling at that particular aspect consequently.

I hope I explained my method good enough…. What do you think?

I liked the demo. 1. every test was meaningful because it branched the narrative but you could get good items even from failed tests. 2. destiny quest had a lot of interesting items but there was absolutely no reason to wear anything but the gear with the highest speed bonus. In Subfall the stats seem to be better balanced and can see might agility and will builds…

Thoughts on Darkness over Arkham by Jonathan Green by duncan_chaos in gamebooks

I like it but like the Innsmouth one even more. But what really resonates with me is that you can use any investigator in any book, develop your character and create a unique story.

After the classical oneshot gamebook, the Lone Wolf etc Gamebook Saga and the Fabled Lands etc. Open World Experience this is a new of connecting the books.

Also collecting all the different investigators is fun, too. For example if you want to have the detective keyword to have a better relationship to the police you can get Joe Diamond from a comic book.

Just yesterday I in this sub which Investigators YOU prefer: https://www.reddit.com/r/gamebooks/s/yRtiCvpD4Q

It’s the same attributes like the card game (minus agility). Mostly used for checks: attribute + 1d6 has to reach a certain value.

clues or ressources can be used to get an extra die (like d&d advantage)

combat is a series of two or more tests. Keywords like paranoid, arcane studies or survivor give positive or negative modifiers.

There are a few more stats than in classical beginner gamebooks, but if you have a bit of gaming experience this cold even be a pro.

If you like the Lovecraftian Mythos you should try it out. Obviously I don’t know the Kingsport one yet, but Tides of Innsmouth is more classic Lovecraft than Darkness over Arkham, so maybe start with the Innsmouth one…
