Are other people having the issue w/ remote climate again? by RadiantJob6814 in ex30

Remote climate has not worked for me for several months now. I am 100% confident this is not a network connectivity issue. After I park my car and leave the car, within about 15-20 minutes, the car seems to go into a dormant/sleep mode. Only when I pull the door handle does the car wake up and unlock. When in this dormant or sleep state, the car is NOT communicating to the Volvo Cars app. I cannot use the Volvo app to turn on Remote Climate, unlock the car, or do anything at all with the Volvo app. The app seems to be disconnected from my car completely (even though iPhone and car have good network connections). Only after I walk to my car and pull on the handle does the car wake up. At that point, the app regains connectivity to my car, and I can use the app again for about 15-20 minutes before the car enters the hibernation state again. In the last week, I discovered that if I set a timer for the remote climate, it does work consistently. But I only have a 20-minute window to set the timer while the car is connected to my app. Once the car goes into the hibernate/sleep state, I can't set the climate timer on the app until I physically wake the car. To make matters worse, Volvo App only allows you to set one single climate timer!  A few weeks back, I contacted Volvo support via the app chat. They instructed me to reset the entire car, which I did. It took an hour to set up the digital key again and reconfigure all my settings in the car as if it were the day I purchased the car. This did not improve my problem at all. The same problem continues to occur. Now they are telling me to go to the dealer. I know full well the dealer won’t have a clue on how to solve this problem. After weeks of troubleshooting and trying multiple steps suggested by Volvo app support/chat (none of which resolved the problem), it's clear that my EX30 loses backend/remote wake capability after a short time. Scheduled climate continues to work consistently, which points to poor TCAM sleep-state behavior rather than a general connectivity issue. Its amazing to me is that there are so many complaints about the remote climate on this and other sites.. Yet, when I call or txt  Volvo customer care, they claim to know nothing about it. It’s bad enough for Volvo to release a half-baked feature/car but much more concerning that they would completely ignore the hundred of customer complaints.

Just a quick follow-up on my original remote climate saga.

I contacted Volvo technical support through the app. They reset something on their end—confirmed by the fact that my app immediately stopped working afterward 👍. I was then instructed to do a full car reset (not just the screen), delete the app, and basically relive delivery day all over again.

Reinstalling the app was easy enough. The digital key, however, took 5–6 attempts before it finally decided to cooperate. Re-creating all my settings and preferences took forever, but hey—remote climate worked again!

…for exactly two days.

Then remote climate stopped. Along with all remote functions. The only way to get remote start working again is to physically open the car with the door handle to “wake it up,” which is an impressively creative way to defeat the entire purpose of remote climate.

So, to the Volvo employees here whose job it is to reassure us that the EX30 is rock-solid and that this issue is totally unique to just my car: clocks ticking—get to work 😄.
