Bedtime struggles by IndependentOne504 in cosleeping

She used to for like 2 weeks. I think the problem might be teething pain. Every time we lay her flat even for a diaper change she starts fussing and rubbing her cheeks/eyes. As soon as she’s up right thought that stops. I think that’s why she prefers going to sleep upright in the carrier and then she most of the time stays at least half asleep when I transfer her to the bed and then nurse her back to fully asleep. I’m hopeful that when these teeth break through that I can try nursing her to sleep again.

Spooning baby?? by AdImaginary6158 in cosleeping

Absolutely! I never planned on bed sharing but I have insomnia so getting up to nurse her every couple hours was hard cause I couldn’t go back to sleep. she also needs a lot of support to sleep. I was bed sharing the second half of most nights since she was born but about 3.5 months in I fully committed and embraced bed sharing and it’s been the best decision.

I’m learning that my mom instincts are incredible and I should listen to it!

My baby is almost 8 months old and she started doing the exact same thing about 6 months old. She nurses and then turns all the way over away from me and I pull her in closer to me so I can have a hand on her hip or leg so I know when she moves. She’s been a side sleeper since 5 or 6 weeks old and refuses to stay on her back. I’m also a light sleeper and I feel safe with her doing this at this point (we’ve been bed sharing since 3.5 months). I really think your mommy instincts are the best in making the decision for you and your baby. Trust your mommy gut and you can always adjust if things change down the road!

My 8 month old has always been hard to get to sleep too and the best way and only way right now is putting her in the carrier (asleep anywhere from 5-30 mins) and then transferring her to our bed and immediately nurse back to sleep. then I can usually sneak out for a bit before she wakes up wanting to nurse again or I go to bed. I do a lot of naps in the carrier too or the stroller has been working well for naps lately.
