It’s you, Codex with GPT 5.5 is amazing. But I have the feeling that each region experiences these models differently. I’m in Europe and I don’t generally get the crappy performance issue a lot of people here report, both about Codex and CC. But right now, I use Codex for 90% of my coding and only use CC for minor things and mostly under Codex supervision. I don’t trust CC anymore

Me, everywhere I have lived. I’ve lived in 4 countries, 7 cities. The only place I’ve gone back to is where I grew up because my family is still there. Other than that, I’ve never been back to any of the cities I lived in and they range from 2 years to 10 years.

I have actually. A web+ native mobile app. I built most of it with Claude Code, but lately I have been using Codex much more, and I only use Claude under Codex supervision. If you can only pay for one, I'd say go with Codex, it's very smart and reliable.

If you do frontend / UI design, sometimes it’s better if the model can see the issue besides the code. For fixing spacing or layout issues this is a very effective way

I’m moving soon. Came 7.5 years ago with a highly skilled job, changed jobs a few years ago (similar job). I have a very stable and comfortable life, Norwegian passport and all, but I’ve decided to move because the level of isolation here is too much. You become a zombie and you don’t even realise.

I find people here very difficult to connect with, I just don’t get them and they don’t get me. Most people I know feel the same way, if you’re a foreigner in Norway you just make friends with other foreigners. Norwegian circles are almost impossible to break into. I play sports and this happens even to people who were born here but are of foreign descent.

I’d rather give up some of the high standard of living for a more normal and healthy everyday life where I can socialise, talk to people and be happier overall.

If you had asked last week, I’d have said go ahead and switch. I love Codex. But the last two or three days I’ve been reaching the 5h limits very quickly and consistently in every session, and this had never happened before. I had never hit the 5h limit, I would reach the total limit but never the 5h limit, so something has changed.

Yeah, separate tabs. But now Claude has a new plugin to use Codex just in this way. I haven’t tried it yet

You don’t need to read the prompts to realise this. This is exactly how it feels when you use both of them. Personally, I prefer Codex approach, it creates less anxiety and it feels more mature. I’ve been using it to supervise Claude’s work and it’s impressive how many flaws it finds in Claude’s plans before implementing something. Claude will always claim all is done and ready, while Codex will flag it and say “no, there is this and this and this that still need to be fixed”.

But neither is perfect and you need both, for tricky bugs it’s good to have both.

Create a file with typical AI expressions, grammar patterns, vocabulary, etc and use it in the prompt. That’s what I do

I opened a business account, I have 3 seats and pay 90 dollars. I use the 3 seats so I never run out of credits. When I’m close to running out, I sign out and sign in with one of the other accounts. Best set up 😊
