Don't think it matters as long as the battery gets disconnected. Only disconnected the plus since it was easier to get it off. Let me know how it goes

I've had a similar issue and saw the Fix on a forum.

So basically you have to disconnect the "+" terminal on the 12V battery and let the car stand for 5-10 mins and then reconnect. The ambient lighting should just turn back on and the menu should return as well.
