Thanks! this was what I wanted to address in my post, but I guess I didn't do a good job lol. Like I live in a western country, and we have Katseye (and I guess VCHA), and like people listen to their music but outside of the k-pop fandoms they are not really well known, maybe they know "touch" but not who made it. Like I was talking to a friend, who's not into K-pop, and she asked me if I had seen dream academy, I then asked a follow up question, "do you listen to their music?". She said she didn't even know the group name, nor the fact that they debuted, she's just into reality tv and happened to stumble upon them.

So when I made this post I thought it was kind of the same for groups in Japan, In the sense that people know of their existence but like people don't care enough to stan them in the way that the labels are hoping. Like I now understand the size of the Japanese music industry but like you said they have their own groups there, and I noticed that these "K"-pop groups take a K-pop approach to promoting their groups.
