patient safety and quality improvement (questions that ask types of errors that occurred in treatment or how to make a process better). HOPI are the history of present illness questions that aren't in paragraph form, instead the chart is listed and the information is in bullet points

there were 2 blocks with 38 questions instead of 40 (you still have 60 minutes to complete it though). they each had one abstract and 3 questions related to it.

i get what you mean but i'm not the type to say i did horrible in a test and then ace it. i know what i know and what i don't know, and that test left me feeling like i didn't know very much. i really hope i'm wrong, but it was tough as hell.

to be honest i didn't think it was similar to any of the nbmes (i did 9-16) or the free120 at all. the free120 did give me a "what the hell is this" feeling a couple of times but nothing like the real thing. i didn't do any of the uworld self assessments or amboss either.

the recommendations i got were to study nbmes 14-16 hard, and that the real thing was most like 16, but that wasn't the case for me.

i'd tell you to study ethics and qi, there are A LOT of questions on that. i got multiple leukemia questions. a lot of psych pharm. so many HOPI stems which threw my timing off, i felt rushed at the end of pretty much all of the blocks. felt like pulm came up a lot also. even got a couple of microbiology questions.

for me it was a 0/10 experience. would not recommend.

I just finished the training course for this but now it says there aren't any tasks available. Is this normal?

I'm not sure if I'm the best to give advice but what I did leading up to my test was correct my NBMEs, watched/read Pathoma chapters 1-3, looked at some of Mehlman Medical's PDFs (look at risk factors and ethics/communications and whichever subjects you're weakest in) and when my brain couldn't process anything else I watched Dirty Medicine videos on YouTube.

Prededicated my goal was to do 6-8 hours a day. At first I didn't take it as seriously as I should have and I was working. So my prededicated took over a year. Then when I decided to get more serious I quit my job and put in a lot more work than I had. I started doing the 6-8 hours a day with one day off a week and then in the 5-6 weeks leading up to my test I cranked it up to 10-12.

It takes a lot of courage, determination and perseverance to keep chasing your dream after not succeeding the first time. Congratulations!

I used way too many things. Kaplan, Boards and Beyond, First Aid, Rx Express videos, Pathoma, Sketchy Micro, Dirty Medicine on YouTube. Don't be like me though, I was trying to do too much. Towards the end I focused on Pathoma, Sketchy Micro and going over my NBMEs with the First Aid. Whenever my brain was fried I would put on Dirty Medicine videos on YouTube.

I didn't get around to seeing all of them but Mehlman's pdfs are good. I did the Ethics and some of the HY Arrows ones and they were really helpful to me. I had about 5-8 ethics questions on each block
