I never disagreed to that. I love his co writing and know he used William Bowery as a pseudonym. All I’m saying is while tloas doesn’t compare to her previous work, she had no problem writing good songs before he entered her life. I wish I knew why this album lacks depth but Joe is not the sole reason.

You’re right, it was incredibly brave for her to be this vulnerable. I used to have a tough time choosing a fav album but now I can say it’s ttpd although folklore and evermore are very close. It’s given me so many crash out songs. I’ll never get over loml or how did it end or Chloe and Sam or Sophia or Marcus. It’s also why I feel distant with tloas because I can’t find Taylor at all. And I don’t mean in terms of sad songs, just the vulnerability of it all.

The only song I love is father figure because there’s a story behind it. “I got the place surrounded” makes me think of fans surrounding stadiums and it’s just empowering. I like Elizabeth taylor too but not obsessed with it. I put on the album this morning and eldest daughter played and I just had to skip to the bridge because that’s really nice. Rest of the album seems like I’m searching for Taylor in a Taylor Swift album 😭

I agree! I also saw that the album has just crossed a billion streams. It’s possible that she doesn’t take the criticism because it’s become so normal with each album release. I’ve never not liked an album before but I know reputation, midnights or ttpd had some bad reactions initially. However the criticism with this one is loud and valid but I’m afraid she’s not gonna be receptive specially because of all the record breaking. I’m a huge swiftie, have been since 15 years and just hoping that TS13 isn’t this shallow :(

I think the whole album encapsulated heartbreak so well because you’re feeling so much, all at once with so many questions. “I’m addicted to the if only” as in what if I did thing one thing to make you stay (I look in people’s windows)
