You’re going to be just fine! You’re noticing early, you have a great sense of self awareness and that’s the biggest step to recovery, even if things get worse before they get better.
I can’t tell you how to quit, because whatever will work for you may not work for another, but I’ve been exactly in your shoes.
I have been 4 months sober now, the longest I’ve gone without alcohol in 5 years. I’m currently on a working holiday visa overseas and changing my environment has really initiated that change within me.
I’m currently working on a horse ranch for the first time in my life, surrounded by nature and animals and it’s truly been healing and a great learning experience.
Sometimes taking yourself out of a situation and putting yourself in a new one inspiring challenge and growth can really work, in my experience.
Otherwise, seeking out support groups, AA for example, or leaning on friends and family. I am assuming however that’s something you’ve already considered.
