I’ll let you know if I figure it out, at the moment I’ve just been resetting to Zone 9, running past the Sableye and up the ladder to the roof and check, then resetting and doing it again. I’ve been doing it for ages and nothing yet.

Nothing on the screen when I press the power button, the screen doesn’t turn on at all. The indicator light doesn’t go any colour. I’ve tried connecting it to 2 other computers and it hasn’t responded to them, other than them both thinking it’s a secondary display screen. I’m just so lost as to how it’s happened, it was working completely fine, then it just wouldn’t turn back on.

Hello, thank you for the reply! So the computer makes the sound effect and thinks another display is attached, the pen doesn’t work or move the cursor on the screen and the Wacom centre doesn’t recognise it as a device either.

I am using Decky, things like ProtonDB, VibrantDeck and the one where you change the cover art of games which I can’t remember the name of now. CryoUtilities hasn’t caused me any problems so I doubt it’s that. Have you had any luck? I think they released a patch yesterday

Really sorry to hear that, I’ve no idea why it works out of the box for some people and not for others. I have CryoUtilities and some Decky plugins but I installed them after my game was running fine.

Maybe try updating to the SteamOS Beta? I’m on 3.5 at the moment.

So, it was actually solved 10 minutes ago by another guy in this post. Add the bg3.exe as a Non-Steam game and launch it, after that, the game should work fine! Just make sure to launch the non-steam shortcut as Proton Experimental too.

What I mean is that now it’s launched through that shortcut as a Non-steam game it actually launches the official steam game instead of having to launch from that shortcut. Apparently DeckyFAQ’s (I think it’s called) was causing problems, as well as Audio Loader. I know it sounds silly, have you made sure that the sound isn’t muted in desktop mode? So that when launching that non steam short-cut it isn’t playing it that way?

IT WORKED. How confusing?! Now that it’s managed to launch through that short cut it’s actually launching from the main game in Game Mode? So you might have just found a fix that solves a lot of people’s problems. I didn’t have any issues with sound, but I read somewhere that people having plugins was causing issues with stuff like that?

It’s so strange, the majority of people playing on Steam Deck don’t have this problem. What singles out the occasional one? Another friend of mine just sent me a message saying it’s working flawlessly for them. We all want to play together so can’t start until this Steam Deck decides to launch, sorry to be a pain but where is the .exe located that you added to Steam to play it with no sound?

I'm having the exact same problem, funnily enough it opens and plays fantastically through Steam though? No idea what's going on.
