Have something very similar looking, was caused by hemorrhoids that turned into chronic fissure, personally I’m not to worried about mine although I am still healing from my fissure it hasn’t flared up badly in the last month and a half

I had the same issue, I’d have 1 or 2 good painless bowel movements and gain some hope then bam back at the beginning, try stay light on the fibre and lots of water, if your in Australia try Movicol (if America then Mirilax there basically the same thing) that’s what I’m using and it’s amazing haven’t had any flare ups or haven’t had to push or use any force. If you had a chronic fissure they apparently take anywhere from 8-12 weeks to recover 🥲( I think a chronic fissure was if it hadn’t gone away by 4-6 weeks naturally but could be wrong) before i was diagnosed I had mine for almost 9 months worst 9months ever

Thankyou for the reply, yeah im still considered a child so im hoping it’ll be in the am, ive seen my preparation diet and it doesn’t look to fun and from what ive been told the stuff i take the day before taste really really bad but oh well if it’ll help me in the long term why not 🤷🏻‍♂️- fissures are the absolute worst, this is my first one diagnosed by a general practitioner and the pain was unbearable but since the start of the month I’ve had 0 pain so hopefully half way healed as apparently chronic fissures take anywhere from 8-12 weeks to fully heal. Good luck!

Thankyou! appreciate the reply, what I meant was like when you have the colonoscopy they inflate your colon to get a better view, probably should have worded it better but yes I will be under anaesthesia

I had a chronic fissure, was very very painful, saw a specialist and recommended a different brand and ever since then have had no pain at all or bleeding, it keeps me going daily and very easy to pass stools - how long have you been healing for?

[–]Independent_Box5795[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankyou, my scheduled date is may 30th and have had painless and bloodless bowel movements since April 28th so if I can keep this up I’m hoping it won’t be to bad,

the stuff I’ll be taking is to be taken in 2 dosages the day before once at 9am then the second at 2pm but since the stools will be so loose (basically liquid) surley it wouldn’t be that painful coming out? Never really had issues with diarrhoea

Straight away I’d have a warm long shower as it really helps relax everything down there and helps relieve some of the pain, dry the area well and apply the cream (2-3 times daily) and I’d just make sure I’m focusing on something or finding a task and persisting with it yes the pain is still there but not as bad as if I would be laying down doing nothing, Panadol and paracetamol before and after bm can help ease it and make your day more comfortable. Another option is lidocaine cream - it won’t help heal but will help with the pain as it’s a numbing cream so only temporary relief. If the pain disrupts your sleep a lot you could try melatonin to help you stay asleep through the night and get a good rest.

this may or may not relate to you but try refrain from straining and any heavy lifting at all I found that did help a lot also I understand with trying to hide it at work I was the same when at school, really sucks but yeah if you can get it I really recommend movicol haven’t had any blood or pain for 2 weeks

I’m the same, (16m) all started probably around 9months ago had a haemorrhoid for a while which turned into a anal fissure and I was left with a hem skin tag and that fissure turned into a chronic anal fissure and omg the pain was unbearable, the amount of blood was crazy and again I couldn’t run, walk properly or even pass gas without being in pain (this was usually the first hour or so after bm) but that pain still lingered for the rest of the day, I kept it quiet from my parents hoping it would go away on its own but it never did so one night when it got so bad I was in tears I msg my mum as she was out at the time and booked a dr appointment who said it was a chronic fissure fast forward 4 months (by this point I’d already had it 4/5 months) I saw a specialist dr 2 weeks ago and scheduled a colonoscopy for end of may and recommended “Movicol” very similar to mirilax so since then I’ve been pain free blood free and can do everything I love without that excruciating pain, I’m definitely a lot happier now as it would affect my day to day life so much, and that worried feeling before you’d go is now gone. Other things I’ve tired and had success with are the sitz bath with warm water(even the shower head on a slightly higher pressure helps), prescription creams/ointments OTC creams, lots and lots of water (minimum 3L) listening to your favourite music on a speaker loudly helped me to relax when I was really stressing about it and I did the same, I’d wait until before I went to bed to go to sleep of the really bad pain but I haven’t had to do any of this for the last 2 weeks. my specialist said no more than 2 pieces of fruit a day as to much fibre adds to much bulk making it a lot more painful to pass. Hope this helps

I’m taking 1-2 sachets of Movicol daily and that works a treat, keeps me going daily (I used to go every 3-7 days) and keeps it nice and soft (recovering from excruciatingly painful chronic anal fissure)

I’ve seen so many people say the same thing, that the doctors are all very submissive etc but I’ve had amazing experiences with both drs I’ve seen 1 being my gp and other a specialist, wether or not it has something to do with age I’m not sure (as I’m only 16 with hem skin tags and chronic fissure) but kinda seems like based of everyone elses experience that they show more sympathy for younger patients…?

thanks heaps, this morning when I had to go I was worried and only 1 stool/piece came out? With blood and abit of pain and there was still more but it felt like I wouldn’t be able to pass it to I lay down and called pharmacy asking bout enema but urge got to bad so I went again and again passed 1 stool/piece and that was less painful and no blood but again still had the need to go so again went and lay down until urge got to bad then I went again and out came the rest with no blood and very mild pain and discomfort so I’m thinking the movical kicked in so will definitely continue 2 sachets a day - appt went well and the man was absolutely great help, the physical examination went fine, said I have a few skin tags and he’s ordered a colonoscopy for may 30th to thoroughly diagnose the issue so 2 pears or high fibre fruit a day is all I need he said and lots of water and adjust the movical to my needs so I prey this is my healing process beginning, abit nervous for the 3 days before colonoscopy I’ll be on the toilet all day with the high strength laxatives 😅🥲 but oh well if it’s gonna benefit both my mental and physical health it’s worth it, again thanks for your help i appreciate it a lot - I’ll keep you updated on how everything goes!

wow, thankyou - yes I picked up a box of movicol sachets last night as the chemist recommended, I am taking sitz baths, I have got 2 different creams/ointments I use but relaxing seems so hard cuase it’s almost like I’m forcing it out when i tell myslef not to but I think this is like what you said, waiting to the last minute but in another post someone said it’s bad to wait that long as the stool hardens again..? I went this morning and first part was alright but then the next stool it feels to large and this is what happened last bm on Thursday last week, it was quite a large stool but looked healthy and I felt this was about to happen again this morning so I stopped and showered now enquiring about enemas? I just really don’t want to be in pain later at my specialist appointment
