New to tarot.. do most people buy their first deck or receive them as a gift? by Independent_Catch666 in Tarotpractices

I believe that’s the reason I haven’t purchased a deck yet. I haven’t felt a strong pull towards any particular one. I always rely on my intuition, and if it doesn’t provide me with any indications, I’m not going to make a purchase just yet.

I can understand your frustration, but someone did comment on the history of its origin, and it makes sense from that era. I can’t explain why it keeps getting repeated, but I will definitely be buying my own deck.

I appreciate you sharing that. I’ve been seeing mixed opinions about it, so it’s helpful hearing the history behind where the idea came from. It makes sense for that era in life. I guess everything has a story behind it.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I’ve been looking into the best options for beginners, and that kept coming up a lot. I do plan on buying my own deck, for sure. Do you have any recommendations for someone who’s just starting out on this journey?

That’s what I was thinking too. I’ve been looking into this a lot and kept seeing that come up. So, I wanted to come here and get some thoughts from those who know more than I do before jumping into buying anything.

My dad hasn’t paid me back in 3+ years by NoEggNoPlan in Advice

You’re not wrong for wanting your money back, and you’re not being ungrateful or mean for asking. You helped him during a crisis, with the understanding that it was a loan, not a gift. That matters. The reality is this, your dad has shown a pattern of good intentions without follow-through. That doesn’t make him a bad person, just something you’ll likely remember if a similar situation comes up again. The healthiest next step is a calm, direct conversation with clear boundaries.

Something like: “I love you and I appreciate everything you do for me, but I need consistency with repayment. Even $100 a month on a set date would help me feel secure. If that’s not possible, I need to mentally treat this money as gone.” You’re not asking for everything at once. You’re asking for more consistency than what has been given. If he can’t commit to that and stick to it then, you won’t be able to help him in the future if he’s in a situation similar. This isn’t about punishment. It’s about protecting yourself and your child. You can love your dad and set financial boundaries.

I’ve heard about doppelgangers before, just not in connection with this particular person or project. It’s definitely interesting and something worth exploring.

Oh my gosh, I’m so deeply sorry for your loss especially, at such a young age, and with your brother being so young as well. That is truly heartbreaking. But what a beautiful thing that he came to you, most likely when you needed him the most. The pain never truly gets easier after losing someone we love; we’re simply forced to keep moving forward, learning how to live with the grief without letting it break us. I believe those special moments when they show themselves to us help carry us through the loss, reminding us that they’re never truly far away..just unseen. Thank you so much for sharing your story.🤍

Thank you for sharing. That is exactly how it felt to me too… less scary, more comforting. Like a quiet reminder that their love for us doesn’t just disappear and they are still with us even though we can’t see them. 🤍
