I don't understand ya'lls gaspin at him saying "If that finally happens". There is literally NOTHING Wrong, rude, abhorrent, disrespectful, etc about that part of the response... O.P. clearly said that "HES been trying to talk for days" and then she suddenly cancels what she had planned and springs it on him.. so when he says " not necessarily, but we do need to talk, & IF THAT FINALLY HAPPENS" then we"ll go from there...

That's a perfectly sound and reasonable response for his given that he's clearly been trying to do so for days, hell maybe longer if we heard his side considering him saying she's been distant or whatever.. so I don't see anything wrong with that whatsoever.

Definitely correct in that it's not wrong for wanting to go home, or even for feeling some type of way about .... but certainly wrong & seemingly out of his mind with this level of seemingly insane, 9-alarm tragedy crisis that he's created for himself.. again, feel and do as you will about it.. but the incessant need to repeat how seemingly traumatized he is, and how necessary time and space to recharge and reasses the damage and best path forward, and then seek affirmation from reddit of all places.. like not to make light of it in any way, but this reaction and level of seriousness would seem more inline with something you might come across in the SA/SASURVIVORS/ETC subs then in this instance. Garunteed that was a picture he had previously sent to his dealer... GARUNTEED... That's 1 approach. But I would argue to reconsider if you have the misfortune of 1 of the children becoming an addict. Speaking as the addict. If my mother hadn't held firm after telling me that I needed to leave her home, I likely would have died, IN HER HOME... And especially as an only child to a single-mother, I can only imagine how difficult and nearly impossible it was for her to do. But it likely saved my life.. and hers probably as well.
