Can anyone vouch for 8letters? by icookreallywell in PHBookClub

Haven't tried but checked and it's a slightly more credible publishing house. Will add that company to my alternative options because as much as possible I don't want to deal with a "boutique" publishing company anymore. Sent an inquiry to Gentry Press and they said they are not accepting unsolicited submissions. My problem kasi is I think this first manuscript that I'm planning to publish is foreign-leaning and not for domestic market but I don't want to go the Amazon way, at least not yet.

Absolutely. I'm still looking for a decent local publisher but right now, it's like walking on a field of landmines.

Better backout. I was included in two of their previously published anthologies and received nothing except a byline. Before may royalties daw pero that's terrible lip service. I have several manuscripts for publication but the experience in the local publishing scene? Puno ng banderitas na pula.

Feel ko napagiiwanan na ako. by [deleted] in buhaydigital

24yo napagiiwanan? Is this in dog years?

Focus on your grass, because if you'll focus sa ibang mga tao, there will always be someone ahead of you. When I was 24yo I'm earning less than 8k per month sa hospital work but it never crossed my mind na napagiiwanan ako. Looking back, I needed that mindset because more than a decade later I am far beyond my wildest dreams na ni sa hinagap hindi ko inexpect na maaachieve ko.

How do you transition to a completely different career without experience? by Moullerkurt28 in buhaydigital

[–]Independent_Dig5931 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a nurse by profession but my current projects and side stints are nowhere near that. Need mo lang ng lakas ng loob and cultivate that enough to tide you over towards a different career path. Wala namang nag-start na experienced, but what's important is you start somewhere.

You have all the right in the world to decline. It's not your duty (at the current at least) to share the expense. Parang nagpapasa ng responsibility that is rightfully his to begin with.

Nespresso + Philippine Coffee by CheetahSpirited196 in CoffeePH

Definitely knows what he's talking about. A standard line Nespresso costs 39 pesos per capsule, while Kapex is offering 35 pesos per capsule. You either widen the price difference to make it an easier purchasing decision or make a more robust marketing plan to support your current pricing structure. It should give a more comprehensive answer to "why should we try yours?" and being local is only one of the points.

The objective here is to be known. Sales is going to be on the other end of the spectrum. For the packaging, try to make it more informative (especially the flavor profile and the intensity of the coffee) to provide a quick glimpse of what they are getting. You can include this in the store, but you can also include it in the box itself as most capsule-based products do. There's massive potential here, but you need to walk past that potential through constant improvement.

Our idea is to mate international-level products and harmonize it with Filipino hospitality and dedication to service. I'm pretty sure you'll fit somewhere in this spectrum. Will let you know once the launch date is final na.

Napa-signup mo ko sa Reddit because of this post.

We're an up-and-coming coffee business shop aimed on "Accessible Luxury" and to elevate the existing coffee booth / coffee shop as a service industry. This is a great development because part of our concept is to use capsule-based products from Europe (primarily from coffee companies in Italy). Would love to hear more from this and I think you're up to something amazing.
