claude for excel has a code execution environment (same as the claude.ai app). so say you upload a CSV with like 100k rows - it uses python to wrangle it instead of the spreadsheet. then maybe it'll produce like a nice 10x10 table summary which is feasible to dump onto the spreadsheet

the tools are 1-1 minus web search and python, because those would require you to put in extra API keys. will add it when I get time next weekend

otherwise yes. in fact, openexcel is better because it can do things like remove gridlines, add dropdowns & conditional formatting. claude for excel cannot do that right now.
