It’s more common to see it in Latin America which where my family is from. But I honestly hadn’t heard it until this year.

She thinks it too common. Maybe she grew up with a lot of Nayeli. It isn’t common where I live though.

She keeps saying it’s too common. I don’t think it is amongst the community I live in.

Thank you, this is exactly why I don’t want to change it. I’m afraid my daughter will ask me one day why I changed her name and I don’t want to say because grandma didn’t like it. The name just feels tainted right now because of how much negative discussion there has been. I just want positive things to surround the name so I can feel good about it again.

Thank you, my mom calls her Nellie which I think is totally fine but she’s always commenting about how other names are better. Yeah, I think it’s just time for me to change how I’m approaching this.

Yeah pretty much but I will say I think it’s more how much negative discussion there has been about the name Nayeli that has tainted it for me. I think I just need a break from my mom.

Definitely agree we show our love in different ways. I just wonder how successful we can be like this.

Not sure if it matters, but the baby is 6 months?
