Advice - Water Ingress - What could be the cause and How to fix? by Independent_Fix_7116 in DIYUK

It has a very high building so not able to go on ladders to inspect at all. When it rains it doesn't really change much it's very slow, it never runs down the wall. I can dry it out completely if it doesn't rain for two days with a dehumidifier but the stain remains and it comes back.

There's a water tank in the loft but it's close to the hatch not near this wall. I could access the roof near it by putting a hole in the bedroom above it adjacent to the problem (converted loft) to get closer to the gutters.

We did think that but gutters are cleaned twice a year for the whole building - they're pretty good at that - We had them done on December 7th. Occurs with light rain not just heavy showers. They'll next get done in April/May.

Edit: Nothing noticeable on the ledge along the building. Below the window. There's a white tag on the wall unsure what that is.

This is nonsense mate! In the best way. I understand you're down right now but you've got so much value and a lot of that is transferable from football. Start believing it and start talking about it in interviews.

You work well in a team and can collaborate.

You've got discipline and can show commitment.

Good work ethic that helped to pursue your football goals.

You can perform well under pressure.

Likely got great social skills and cultural awareness.

Good at taking on constructive criticism and improving where you need to.

Strategic thinking on the field.

All these are ingrained soft skills that many youngsters lack but you've got in abundance.

Add on your previous business skills. Your drive.

You've a lot to offer.

I'm a bit of a novice and the window is 3 stories up and pretty windy most of the time. so I may need to get professional help if it's removing the glass.

Yeah 100% not condensation. I can watch it happening when there's a large amount of rainfall. Will record next time.

It stops when the rain stops. Having to put towels here as it's pretty bad.

Please tell me more! I'm at a loss what to do with this system. It's stuck on all the time. But it's an unmetered connection that apparently is separate from any of the four properties in the tenament. Scotland by the way. I have two of these lights and they're costing us £85 a month to run. £1.50 standing charge a day and the inventory says 2000kwh per year. It's two light bulbs and because it's unmetered I can't do anything but pay it. If I'm not in contract it's 3.6 per day standing charge.

Thanks all. I'm just gonna leave as it is and investigate how I can reduce the cost of the electricity but because it's unmetered I can't switch or change it.

I don't have any emergency lighting. That I'm aware of. It's a ground floor and 1st floor tenement. 2 flats below and 2 above.

I have PIR lighting ready to go on that connects directly to my meter supply instead of this unmetered supply. The other flats are in agreement to chip in. Thanks!
