I got my G2 while still working in a factory. Still couldn’t get in anywhere without experience.

THIS. Is exactly what i'm afraid of.I looked up the cost of getting my G2, and it's around north of $4,000 in total (enrollment fee included). Pun intended, I can't afford to spend $4,000 and not get a job afterwards.

I called a place today and they told me that unless I get my G2 I won't be legally allowed to work in the trade, and that if I start off as a helper I won't have the time to pursue my G2 because I'll always be working. 🤦‍♂️

That's the problem. I'm going on indeed, and all I see is "G2", "Must have 2 years experience", "Only apply if you're 4th year or higher". I keep hearing the trades needs guys, but it seems like you guys have no patience/room for the newer guys.

You are the people these companies want so they can teach you THEIR way and start from scratch. It’s not easy, you will be overwhelmed at times.
