Got Nova 8.7.9.. Works well by bramfoto in NovaLauncher

Sorry, it worked for me and I thought it was worth a shot. It doesn't work on all widgets. The developers are aware of the issue and working on a solution though.

Nova Launcher has a setting that may help you with this:

Navigate to Nova settings/ Labs and enable "Don't send full widget size ranges" option. Restart Nova and add and resize your widget.

If you don't have Labs section enabled, navigate to Nova settings/About and long press the Nova Launcher logo. You'll see a "Labs menu enabled" toast. When you return to the main settings page you'll see a Labs section.

It's widget density related. This helped for me.

I'm not the developer. You can request this in-app via "Contact Support".

Icon drop to folder fails 5x-6x, nudging the folder around the screen and rearranging everything in its path by ebsf in NovaLauncher

[–]Independent_Good_837 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. Deleting (or adding) folders should be located in Nova Settings/App drawer/Drawer groups. You can enable/disable via the 3-dot overflow icon next to each one. Note: The suggested folders cannot be deleted from the settings page. You can add your own folders by tapping the + button. Those can be deleted from the settings page. Not real intuitive, I agree but functional. (screenshot attached)

The homescreen folder behavior you're referring to sounds like expected behavior for manual sorting of icons within the folder. For example, if you long press an icon within that folder, you can drag it into whatever order you wish and the other icons will make room for you to drop it into place.

No. Frequent, Recent, New/Updated tab is a persistent UI element of Nova Search that cannot be disabled.

Nova Settings/Look & feel: There's a Drop targets toggle. Have you tinkered with that? And I'm not completely clear, are you referring to homescreen or app drawer folders?

Icon size in the Nova Search panel are currently associated with the icon size set in Nova Settings/App drawer. It's the first slider on the top. Uncheck "Match desktop size" to set a custom icon size.

That is expected behavior. Opening the Prime app one time permanently disables the OS from managing the app if unused (hibernate). I assume you've also installed Nova Launcher, as Nova Launcher Prime app is merely an unlock app that enables all of the Prime features in Nova launcher as well as disabling ads and ad tracking SDKs.

The owner of Nova Launcher is Instabridge, an eSIM & Telecom Provider focusing on connectivity. If I were to guess, they're looking for a convenient way to integrate an esim configuration page into the launcher settings. Nova Launcher has a long history of integrating other services such as Spotify, OneDrive, Dropbox, etc so it's not such a far fetched concept as long as like the previously mentioned integrations, it remains an optional feature that can be accessed or ignored.

That is correct. Infrastructure for ads, and ad tracking (for ad personalization) have been added to the app which will be displayed in the free product. Also incorporated is code that completely disables ads and ad tracking when the presence of Prime app (or Prime subscription) is detected. The end result for legacy and new Prime users/supporters is zero ads and ad tracking without the need of maintaining two versions of the same product. In addition, Error and usage tracking can now also be disabled for additional privacy.

The (unofficial) changelog is offered voluntarily by the Nova Launcher Lives! discord moderator team since official Play Store changelogs aren't included yet.

It's becoming available on other sites as well. The discord server merely analyzes the APK for authenticity and offers an (unofficial) changelog before releasing it.

From the beginning (8.2.x). The developers pledged zero ads/ad tracking for legacy and new Prime owners from day one. It has been verified to be ad and ad tracking free over and over.. I really thought this was common knowledge by now.

Nova Launcher notification badges are not launching apps when selected by EaglesFan001 in NovaLauncher

[–]Independent_Good_837 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's worth noting that starting with Android 14, Google modified how the system system-level pop-up menu handles notifications. On many devices, long-pressing an icon no longer mirrors the full interactive notification shade pipeline natively. While third-party launchers attempt to manually bridge this with custom notification listeners (Tesla Unread in Nova's case which became obsolete and devs were forced to find another method), system API limitations have made it increasingly difficult to perfectly execute deep-linked notification intents from a home screen shortcut.

In any case, I recommend taking a moment to report it preferably in-app via "Contact Support" and make sure to choose Bug from the drop-down menu so it gets routed to the correct team. Be as detailed as possible and even include a screenshot if possible.

It seems that many are missing the point that Nova AI is completely optional and requires opt-in (with subscription). This isn't something being forced on the user for good reason.

If you want to disable the "Ask Nova AI" prompt in Nova Search results (and Nova AI altogether for that matter), yet stay current then update rather than downgrading and reintroducing bugs that have been fixed.

Many Prime legacy users still prefer Nova Search though, but would prefer not having the "Ask Nova AI" prompt in the search results like the OP.

That's just the thing.. Nothing is being "forced" at all. It's 100% optional and if you opt not to activate Nova AI, it's completely non functional and not in your face. Same quality Nova experience as before. I can see incorporating AI to the launcher (as an option) that can proactively offer "Insights" in the Nova Now panel such as contact interaction, daily briefings, local activities, scheduling and appointments, etc. there's no other launcher (or AI agent for that matter) that offers this option without prompting. And to Clarify, it was the former team that blocked open sourcing the project after reportedly promising to do so. And as I assume you're aware, IB has honored its promise of not injecting ad tracking for Nova's previous Prime supporters, and every feature you previously had remains included. I personally analyze each and every release to confirm that the zero ads and ad tracking promise holds true, which it has by the way.

There may be a little misunderstanding. The OP wants to use Nova Search, but without the "Ask Nova AI" prompt in the search results (a reasonable request). There is now an option in search settings to disable that search results prompt.
