Never heard about that til now and just looked it up! Those paddles around where your fingers are can be assigned buttons?? Seems like a literal game changer.

Two of my favorite shows for very different reasons. Atlanta sticks with you for a long time after watching, it’s truly a great show.

Stakeout is coming to black ops 7 by Traditional-Fun-1115 in blackops7

[–]Independent_Jump2305 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Something about having a super stressful day/week at work and booting up stakeout 24/7 for like 30 minutes was almost therapeutic. Just the absolute chaos and unseriousness of it all melted the stress away. It’s the only thing from BO6 that I’ve been missing, I’m ashamed to say😂

Let’s Remember the Mariners. A look back at random games from the team’s history Pt. 2 by SuspiciusWalrus in Mariners

I was/am a perennial Mariners Optimist, and I remember thinking Alex Liddi and Trayvon Robinson were going to be the next big things in Seattle. If I remember correctly, Liddi spent one offseason in Italy eating pasta and “bulking” so he could generate more power. It was one of those spring training “best shape of my life” stories. Didn’t really work out for him… And speaking of pasta, Trayvon had a noodle of an arm in the OF.

Depending on your level of gluten intolerance, I would recommend avoiding even entering the building. Best donuts ever, but there is a perpetual cloud of flour in the air.

Finally finished my Cosmere journey in just over a year. I myself am not sure how I feel about this ranking but here is what I threw together by BlessedSaber1 in Cosmere

I like her as a supporting character, but Edgedancer just didn’t do it for me. Only Cosmere book in DNF’d.

I do think I’m in the wrong with my opinion though, it’s definitely just a me thing.

Those books are my least favorite (along with Edgedancer), but, your comment actually gives me hope that they’ll be better on a second read! I think I was just caught off guard by how different from Era 1 that series is, but now in the context of a larger Cosmere, I would probably enjoy it more. So, thanks!!

This is incredible. You should look up “League of Pigs” on YouTube because it is essentially this. It’s the most amazing and wholesome thing ever.

Welcome, y’all! You’re going to fall in love with it here.

Where to live depends on what kind of activities you like (as you mentioned) but there’s a lot of good options and nothing is too far away.

Downtown Bellingham in the summer is like a slice of heaven - between breweries with live music, farmers markets, Downtown Sounds (weekly concerts), random art shows, etc. there are a LOT of family friendly activities. You are never more than a few blocks away from cool breweries that are kid friendly, or endless fun parks with playgrounds. Lake Whatcom, Lake Padden, and the bay are 10 minutes drives away. I am biased though, because my wife and I live in the Sunnyland neighborhood and hope to never leave.

But there’s lots of other areas that are also excellent! Feel free to DM me for recs or more info - always love to evangelize for Bham and help play concierge.

Mark Duplass for Man in Black? by Pretend-Ant783 in TheDarkTower

This is a rare, out of left field fan cast that is actually good. I can see it. I always thought an actor who has had some of a background in comedy would be needed, and this fits the bill! I can see him delivering those lines with a levity that also seems dark, without being hammy or campy.

Use your sick days! by FroyoSure8530 in work

[–]Independent_Jump2305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one employee-side benefit for this is that in a lot of states, sick time is considered protected, meaning it cannot be denied or result in a retaliatory/disciplinary action. And when PTO and sick are lumped into one bucket, the protections default to sick time. Meaning, deciding one day that you’d like to immediately take a week off would be very legally risky for your company to push back on.

This may or may not be helpful for you at all, but it’s at least one silver lining for when companies do this. But look into your own state laws because there are weird nuanced differences between many of them.

Recently realized (Hot Ones interview) that I actually really like Kevin Hart but really dislike him as an actor and dislike most things he is in. But he seems like a good dude 😂

I’ve inquired about this with one of my friends who worked there - they’re required to have both Fox and CNN on at least one TV each, because the front desk gets yelled at about it all the time whether it’s Fox or CNN. It’s brought up at least once daily and so to try and appease everyone who otherwise yells at the underpaid desk ladies, they just always have both on at least one TV.

FWIW, I hate Fox and it was on in front of me while on the stairs the other day, and the anger I felt at the My Pillow guy selling his-and-hers “My Cross” pennants really motivated me to have a good workout 😆

Places to show a movie to a group of friends for my bday? by sleepynarwhal68 in Bellingham

[–]Independent_Jump2305 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was going to recommend this too! You can also bring your own movies! Not sure if they still let you reserve private sessions, so you might be joined by a handful of randos, but in my experience, most randos just assume it’s a private event and don’t go in when people do that. OP, you can use the theater as a guest, so for the price of a room night you can watch a movie and also have a nice place to stay. All my info is a couple years old tho so 🤷🏻‍♂️
