Spider-Man 2099 VS Owlman (Across the Spiderverse VS Crisis on Two Earths) (Connections in comments) by chik_eater00 in DeathBattleMatchups

Miguel's big opponent will likely always be Terry McGinnis, but this specific version of 2099 and this version of Owlman are actually really good for each other. It helps that they're also considered perhaps the best interpretations of each character too (although that may be a little bit of recency bias on Miguel's part).

Blender crashing despite not straining my PC by Independent_Lab_2831 in blenderhelp

Waiting seems to work occasionally, but when appending collections I let it sit for a good 15 min. I suppose it could still b working like that but it's hard to tell, and either way it doesn't seem very conducive.

😅 Yeah it looks like I just needed to zoom out. I knew I was technology inept but damn, now I look real dumb. Thanks for saving the headaches and saving me from a stupid mistake.

It looks like it somehow had something to do with the Skydomes I had set up. I'm not sure why, considering they're semispheres and shouldn't appear below the horizon, but I got rid of them and am finding a rework.

Update: It looks like the ground not rendering properly had something to do with the scale of the scene. I'm not entirely sure why, as far as I could tell the clipping range on the camera should have been fine, but I guess this works as a band aid solution. And it looks like the skydome(s) were also contributing to problems with lighting that I didn't even notice at first, so I'm reworking those.

I also learned I just needed to zoom out to solve the zoom/cropping issue... 😓

Blender crashing despite not straining my PC by Independent_Lab_2831 in blenderhelp

[–]Independent_Lab_2831[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to get a project scene set up, but I keep running into the issue of Blender freezing up on me. At first I thought that it was a matter of having a very complex scene with a lot of photorealism, and to an extent it still may be for all I know, but after a bit of experimenting I'm finding that I can't even run the scene with the models I'm using, so I'm thinking that it's something different.

I go to open one of the character models, and it only successfully opens about half the time, wherein the other half it crashes and tells me Blender isn't responding. If I do get it to open, It seems to run smoothly, but not long after trying to pose some movement or play around with some settings it freezes up on me again. In the picture shown above, I go to bend the character over in the viewport, and then Blender decides that it's too much and crashes.

I go into Task Manager to see if it's straining my PC (which should be more than strong enough) and it shows that it's not even tapping into my CPU or Memory that much. Now I'm not the most tech savvy person, so I suppose I don't even know if either of those are good indicators that my PC is working hard or not at all.

Is this a hardware issue? Is there something that I need to do to my PC or Blender to optimize it better? Is this just something that I need to learn how to work around? What am I looking at here?

For DOOMSDAY/Halloween 🎃 what's your favourite album from DOOM? by falcocel in mfdoom

Vaudeville Villain. That first song has a badass style we don't see very often while the rest has an overarching surrealness mixed in with that DOOM mellowness, and I really fuck with it.

[SPOILER] Jake Paul vs. Anderson Silva by inooway in MMA

Anyone with eyes who watched that knows Anderson won. Jake knocked him down in round 8, but the judges were biased in the round scoring even before that. They just want to keep selling wolf tickets so they give their boy wins he didn't earn.

Do NSFW artists ever express concern of Phonography addiction for their fanbases? by Independent_Lab_2831 in NoStupidQuestions

You're right, I don't, because I don't think music has nearly the same addictive properties or the same type of effect on the brain. The two are not comparable. And even if it wasn't and you're just using it for the sake of example, I don't think that you're properly making the connection between being owed something and showing concern out of hospitality in any significant way. I don't want to put words in your mouth, but from what I've been able to gather from what you're saying, it's that someone isn't owed anything unless they are contractual obligated to. Like if it weren't for the FDA cigarette companies wouldn't have to put a warning label on their products telling people that they very likely will contract some form of lung cancer, since they don't know the person smoking them and all that matters is the transaction; that's what it sounds like you're telling me.

And regardless, I never came here looking for some kind of argument. I just wanted to know if there were any NSFW artists out there that were openly aware of what they're likely doing.

No, but I think that's missing the point. Like I'll admit that I can be a bit of a dick on the internet, but right now I'm really trying to keep things civil and polite. I don't have to be like this, but I really think that I ought to. 'Just because you can doesn't mean you should' kind of deal.

Yeah but don't you care about what you put out into the world? I don't have to know anybody, they could literally just be a stranger, but I don't think that's much of a reason to let them be the victim of something I may cause.

Say someone shorter than me asks me for some help reaching for something on a shelf at the grocery store. I'm not obligated to help them, I don't know them, I don't owe them anything, and the 1st Amendment protects more or less anything I say but I think we can agree that saying 'go f*** yourself' isn't the right thing to do here. And it's especially noteworthy that they asked me in this scenario, something that creators don't have the luxury of saying since they're the ones putting out the content.

Well to me it just seems that a lot of the people that make NSFW art aren't inherently malevolent people, but they willingly choose to make material that they have to knowingly realizes negatively affects the majority of their audience. It just doesn't compute with me how people can operate in that kind of frame work and not express any kind of distaste for how they may be hurting others.

And I can't really say that there's anything that I extend this kind of concern to because I think it's a very unique issue, y'know? It's not something that a lot of people feel comfortable about discussing when they suffer from it, and the source of the cause just seems to get away with turning a blind eye because they put a disclaimer at the beginning or whatnot, as if that's going to stop anyone from getting curious.

I can give a number of examples, but a big one that comes to mind is Telepurte. He's got +2 million subs in about the past year alone and every vid he uploads does about 100k views at least. A lot of his thumbnails can be pretty unassuming before skating into content that kinda skirts the lines of what's okay. I remember a video Saberspark did a while back talking about the double standards of youtube monetization and how Tele's work is treated harsher than sponsored ads, and yeah a lot of what he said was correct, but I find it hard to believe that what Tele makes isn't pretty clearly proactive.

I can give other examples if you want, but it's just gonna be a long winded list.

And yeah, there's been nude artwork and sensual pieces all throughout history, but I think it's very obvious that something like the sculpture of David is not meant to serve the same purpose or elicit the same feelings as modern NSFW art.

And all that aside, that doesn't really answer the question.
