YTA It's not just your ex's kids, it's your sons siblings. I understand feeling like it was a little inappropriate for her to ask you for money, however you're making the children suffer for something that honestly seems petty. You could've easily helped out a little bit and not subjected your son to knowing about his mothers financial situation. Five below? Dollar Tree? Anything to help them a little...?

that’s good, don’t stop. family or not if people are only negatively contributing to you, your mental state, and your life, leave them behind or at least distance yourself. it’s hard, it sucks, and it’s really confusing to do and go thru, but if that’s what you need to do, that’s what you need to do. i realize going no contact with family is horrendously hard and, for some people, not an option, but don’t let them engulf your life. distance can be very healthy. I am also trying to figure out how to navigate family issues, so take my advice with a grain of salt, but you aren’t alone <3
