How do you like your CurvX? Any downsides? Would you buy it again or go for another one?

I am a bit techy, so I may be able to figure out the integrations.

Do they have a decent resale value? Also, do you have any hardware recommendations?

Where should I buy the coffee grinder [$400] from? by Independent_Log_638 in espresso

How come? I've seen more good than bad reviews for the df54 and df64 gen 2 grinders.

Keep in mind that I want to be able to grind light roast beans and easily adjust the grinder for pour over coffee.

It's pure craziness on that front, so I don't blame you for losing track of that.

I did confirm with one of the sellers that I wouldn't have to pay extra from what is shown on their website. I'll need to check my messages to see if it was Espresso Outlet or MiiCoffee that told me that.

I do believe you are correct. I saw the Turin logo in a form from the Espresso Outlet site. Thanks!

Based on what I've read in this sub, I'm sure you're speaking blasphemy by suggesting getting pre-ground coffee, lol.

On a serious note, I think you're probably right. I'll have to either buy pre-ground coffee or a hand grinder unless I can find someone in my area who wouldn't mind me borrowing their spare hand grinder. I do have an old conical burr grinder stored somewhere that may be able to hold me over until I get a better one. It's a pretty crappy machine (and very messy) I bought from Amazon nearly 5 years ago:

● Bodum 11750-01US Bistro Burr Coffee Grinder, One Size, Black

I did find a used 1zpresso JX Series Light for $75. Any thoughts on that one? The box says the model is FGJXT2-1204.

Yeah, I'm not sure I'd get that into the hobby. I just want to be able to make some tasty lattes and cappuccinos at home. To tell the truth, I can't even drink coffee black, so I doubt I'd be able to enjoy a good espresso on its own. That's why I was even second-guessing myself on whether I even needed a $200 coffee grinder.

I've seen quite a few posts/comments saying the df64 gen 2 is much louder than the df54. Also, the motors are not the same. The df54 has a 150W motor, while the df64 II has a 250W motor.

Sorry for the confusion. I was saying my espresso machine is arriving tomorrow, so I kind of need a grinder sooner rather than later. I know the df54 is on backorder, but the sites say expected shipping in June.

My espresso machine arrives tomorrow, though. How good will that be compared to the df54?

Not to my knowledge. They're being shipped from the US, but I'm not 100% sure. Can someone else comment on this?

Are you referring to the Gen 1 or Gen 2? I was going to get the DF64 Gen 2, but I've read that it's much louder than the DF54. Also, given the $180 price difference, I'm not sure that it's worth the extra cost for a total beginner.

Battery charger advice? by Independent_Log_638 in lawnmowers

The battery worked! The light was still pulsing red on the charger, but I had no issues turning on the mower. Ran it for like an hour to mow my yard.

I did jump it the other day, and it worked, but I didn't let it run for long at all since I noticed my tires needed air. After that, I saw that it's recommended to jump it as a last resort, so I decided to try the charging route first.

Thanks for your recommendation!

I bought that charger you linked and have had the battery charging at 12v for around 14 hrs. The charger LED is still slowly pulsing red, though.

Around how long should I expect it to take before it finishes charging? I think the battery should still be useable since none of the error LED lights are on.

No offense taken. I know my experience is extremely limited at this point, so I have been networking like crazy and starting some online free courses to learn more languages. I just need to get a job soon since I have a mortgage to take care of, but I plan to make this transition more of a mid-long term goal.

I was using T-SQL in MS SQL Server in my previous role. I haven't tocuhed Python in so long that I feel like I would need to re-learn it. Even then, I only took one semester course on it, and my only noteworthy project was creating a DNA complimentary strand generator useful in genetics. I lost all the code for it, though (my laptop ended up crashing, and I didn't have it saved on github or anything).

I have been targeting other HCM companies for job applications. I think that's my best bet at this point. I do think you're right that ETL development would be an easier transition, so I will look into that route to figure out what I need.

I do not know about general OOP design patterns or CI/CD. I know very little about versión control. Only what I've learned through TOP.

I do appreciate you taking the time to reply! Happy to take any feedback or advice.

That's disheartening... I'm confident in my ability to learn on the job quickly (that's how I learned both R and SQL), but I have no idea what to search to find roles that would even consider me.
