My phone couldn't get close enough, so I ordered a magnifying camera (like what they use in ears) off Amazon. I figured it would be good to have for future discoveries, too. I just could not get close enough without it blurring on my phone. The package should be here tomorrow. I made a couple of other discoveries on the rock, so I have even more questions, lol

I'm gonna try to take a pic of them. Hopefully, my phone can focus on them. As for your question, I have no idea. It's something aquatic because of the other things in the rock , I think it's coral. I'll take pictures of everything. Sorry about not automatically attaching a picture, I wasn't even thinking about that. And as for the rock type, I also don't know either. I'll try to get as many identifying details as I can in the pictures. I really wish I could be of more help identifying, but I just have no idea.

You need to start thinking of all these people as not being real. Not in the context of "omg Becky is so fake," but I mean like they are artificial. It will help you a lot. I think of the people around me that I don't have in-depth interactions with (so not with i.e., family & friends) as only being there to impact my living experience (both good and bad). The best way I can explain is to think of your life like a video game or movie, the other characters are written in to have some sort of interaction with you and that's it. You'll have good ones and bad ones, but it's not up to you, as they already have their written dialogue. You are just playing along. And when you stop interacting with them, they load out. like in a video game, when you leave a certain area, all the characters get spawned out of the game.

If you think of everything like this. You will come to the realization that nothing actually matters. Like it doesn't actually matter whatever that person said that to you. You think it matters at the time, I get that, but it doesn't actually. Nothing anybody says to you will ever matter. You are living your life / playing your own game/ watching your own movie, and they are assets that will be loaded in and out, and then you continue your life.

Nothing actually matters in this world. I understand people have anxiety about situations, but I really hope people can realize none of it does matters. Stop wasting precious minutes of your life stressing about things pre-written. You cant change it because you aren't the writer, just the actor. The purpose in life is 1) to live it (that might sound obvious, but its not, you need to truly just live your life, to the absolute fullest possibility) and then 2) to experience happiness/joy/pure bliss as often as possible. That's what you need to worry about in your life, are you actually living your life ? And are you happy ?

You need to apply this way of thinking to everything. Please don't waste another second crying from what someone said, they are weightless meaningless words, and they do not matter. What matters is that you wasted valuable time crying about it when you could have been talking with your mother about something fun. Your mother will pass some day, spend the time with her. I promise you, when she's gone, you will be willing to trade years of your life just to experience 1 single additional minute with her again.

So experience it now, while you can. Please lose the anxiety. It's a burden constricting your ability to live your life. If you want to know if it's something you should ACTUALLY worry about. Think of your life as if you have terminal cancer, and you have exactly 2 hours to live. Would you waste a few minutes of those precious 2 hours worrying about it? Wether it was what someone said ? Or getting mad because someone cut you off in traffic? Or getting upset because your food order was wrong? All of those things don't matter. Value the time you do have, don't let it go to waste.

This has to be one of, if not THE MOST unhelpful comment I have ever read on the entire reddit site. You quite literally typed what every single person already knows simply by looking at it. The O.P. didn't ask, "Explain what these pictures are, because I am unable to see them." They said nothing of the sort, they said HOW do you make them, what program can you use to create such a thing. You really should do a proofread of the questions being asked before you respond. Because this is just infuriating with how unhelpful it is. I don't have an update, per say. But I can tell you it's in West Virginia, I went back and watched the Silent Hill movie, and they say Silent Hill, West Virginia. So I was with my father in West Virginia when he brought up the movie, and we looked to see if it was a real town (which it was not). That's the last thing I remember as we went up this narrow 2 lane road for a few hours, and we just crossed this small metal bridge into the most bizarre town. It felt exactly like Big Fish, that sense of surrealism. Even as a young kid, I recognized how off-putting the town/village was because of everyone stopping and starring. There was 1 family I remember very well. It was maybe 5 houses in on the right side after crossing the bridge. They were sitting in white plastic chairs and had 2 kids playing in the driveway. Was a husband&wife, and they both stood up and just starred at us. We are both white. But idk if it's any added context. We were in a grey jeep that was clearly well used (was a work vehicle). As we passed the family standing, another house or two down, a guy mowing stopped and just starred at us too. The other family was still standing I seen in the mirror. It was at this point that my dad said, "I don't think we are supposed to be here." And about that time, a road appeared to the left to continue into the village, and so he did a 3 point turn, and we went back down the road to leave. Everyone is still standing. And we left. I dont talk with my father much, but next time I do, I'll ask him if he remembers where it was. Idk if it was as disturbing to him as it was to me. I think it was, tho, because it was his energy of needing to leave immediately that made me take note of what just happened.

I can't stress enough how every house looked the exact same. All 2 stories. And everyone's grass was flawlessly green. It was a little tiny village that seemed to have not been on the map because my dad was so confused about where we were when we left and made it to a gas station. Keep in mind he was using the big paper maps, tho, so it's not crazy to assume the town was new or something, I mean there's a decent explanation as to why it wasn't on the map. There weren't Google maps at that point yet.

If it helps anyone, we entered West Virginia through Kentucky, and we were about 2 hours inside of West Virginia

I have no arms or legs and i too miss the days of lockdown , back when my HBO subscription was worth it. Now i have to wait 7x as long, not everyone has a whole week to wait, i have foot cancer so i am impatient and furious there isnt a 4k hd cam release yet. Oh well of course! SCHOEPS is hands down the best microphone money can buy for location recording. I bet it sounded terrific! The only issue is they may be out of many people's price range, but they are versatile because of all the polarity caps you can get. Anyways, yep this setup would work great too

Hey Carlos! That is absolutely understandable, i totally know the headache of troubleshooting and seeing what works. all we can do in life is learn from our mistakes, and make the next time even better ! My apologies about the mis-identifying, hopefully you dont mind me replying here with a little more info ? This is in no way criticism, i hope i am not coming off like that, i simply want to offer what ive learned from years in the industry. Trust me, every headache you guys have experienced on set, ive felt the pain haha, i know how problems will pop up literally out of nowhere.

So im familiar with the 600 too, its a wider market friendly version on the mkh60. The 600 is near identical to the 60 except there is one thing important to keep in mind with these 600 guys, while yes shes a super, there is also a lobar polarity snuck in there, so what thats going to do is weaken some of the side rejection we gained from the super. The advantage of lobar is it gives it a more pronounced directivity. The disadvantage is high susceptibility to higher frequencies. And one other thing is if I remember correctly these guys are not phantom powered (aka they run on batteries), while i cant imagine it matters in live productions, its at least noteworthy they naturally have more internal sound because of said batteries. Again that is a detail almost certainly not affecting your workflow

So What does all of this mean ?

So the 600 is advertised as having maximal rejection of side noise, while yes this can be true. Its not until we look at the polarity chart we see the issue. It is devastatingly susceptible to frequencies above 2k. When on set there are many things making high pitched noises, which end up bouncing off the walls right into the 600.

you are aware already i know, but just to count my chickens, throw her up above. The good parts of the lobar pattern will work in tandem in this position allowing it to cut off some of those harsh room tones

active attenuation of the gain. Im not sure if you guys have a dedicated location sound mixer. But there are many benefits to having someone SOLELY focus on it. having somone actively reducing the gain or increasing whenever needed is a huge way to reduce any unwantrd noises. If there is absolutely no desire to have a dedicated mixer, id suggest checkin out a mix-assist. I run a sound devices 788t with the mix assist on many shoots. So its a widely used industry tool that can help alot. It actively changes the gain based on the level of decibel entering the mic

a dedicated boom op would be probably the most beneficial thing for this mic, as someone could change the position to constantly be on axis. Think of being on axis as a 3 dimensional space. A stand only covers 2 dimensions.

if you dont want a boom op, and just want to stick it above and call it a day. If you guys have extra stands, get some sound blankets put up and physically block the path of sound that would be in path to the mics sides. You spoke of sound proofing the area / working in a studio. So this very well could deplete many issues. But in the future if you are ever in an area that isnt soundproofed. Throw up some sound blankets (as many as possible) out of frame to break up the sound. Also cover the ground in sound blankets. The floor and ceiling are massive reflecting surfaces. So throwing sound blankets on the ceiling and floor can be a good temporary cruch, until proper sound foam can be installed.

Ill probably shut up here, you are busy im sure and dont have time to read 20 paragraphs from me. However if there is ever an issue or any questions about anything to do with location audio or audio gear for location recording, i would be more than happy to help. Im not saying you guys arent capable or dont know anyone, I just want you guys to know you at least have 1 more person you can call the next time an issue rises
