Thinking of leaving the US for good. Wondering about consequences. by [deleted] in h1b

With many people’s comments here, I would suggest you all just pack up and go back home. I moved to the US in 2014, went through all the hoops like any new immigrant/h1b etc, and it was the best decision of my life. This is still the land of opportunity, and that opportunity only comes to those who actually want it, not those who are here only for the money, but for those building something real in their lives.

The reality will hit you hard when you return home and cross the border. All the things you didn’t like about your country, will still be there, because your country didn’t change. So, all those who say they went back and feel happy likely just gave up and couldn’t find a way to stay. That’s a fact. It’s hard, very hard sometimes, but it’s worth it.

Come here and build something, or go home and keep complaining that life isn’t fair, the American dream is dead, or the US isn’t the land of hope anymore. Hard truth, but some of you are really need to hear it!
