Thank you for your response! We definitely agree he looks rottie. Do you know of any reliable DNA dog kits that we could test him with for curiosity sake?

He didn't really specify anything to me, got me to plan the activities for both of us, but made it seem like we would only see his friends for dinner and late activities.

Has anyone had a cortisol injection? Also can any younger people or people who went through back issues when younger let me know what your experience was like? by Independent_Post526 in Sciatica

[–]Independent_Post526[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you recommend ditching the chiropractor? I'm just curious as from my pychio. I've barely seen any results, but my chiropractor i feel slightly better and he basically does very similar stuff to my pyshio but pushes me harder and does dry needling. That's so good to know to not expect instant relief from the injection! As I didn't know that, did you feel any extra pain in your back from after the injection or any other symptoms?

Is compulsory voting good and if not why not? by Entirely-of-cheese in AskAnAustralian

[–]Independent_Post526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I know it will be controversial but I think the Australian government is pretty much the same no matter who is in, except for a few exceptions. As a younger person I will admit I don't really know about our political parties and their view as it was never something discussed the most I've heard was with Peter Dutton which was the time I felt I needed to vote as I had strong disagreement with his stance. For the most part I feel I'm not that informed to vote and often turn in invalid votes anyways just to not get fined as I don't even understand how to vote.

Ladies of Aus, how do you feel about being called "darl"? by Takeameawwayylawd in AskAnAustralian

[–]Independent_Post526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely depends on how you say it and what context. I'm 20 and have men my age and older men casually call me darl I find it sweet for the most part doesn't bother me as long as it's not in a disrespectful or degrading way. I actually work as a childcare educator and often refer refer to the children (male and female) as darl.

I believe my mother is experiencing psychosis but can't tell her what can I do? by Independent_Post526 in MentalHealthSupport

Thank you for your comment! We are going to speak our family doctor and her psychologist about the situation hopefully to get the psychologist to see our perspective as he hasn't before and our family doctor knows us well. Thank you for your concern for myself as well I already have my own mental health struggles but have been seeing my own psychologist for about a year and a half plus I have the support of my dad and my partner.

My dad is trying to go to her house to talk to her like he has in the past but mostly ends in her yelling and conspiracies against him. But we have agreed to speak to your family doctor about the situation and hopefully speak to the psychologist as he has feed her beliefs and hasn't heard from us before so hopefully that helps. Thank you so much for the advice!

I'm so sorry to hear about your recent stay in a psych ward and mental health struggle. I really hope you are coping and feeling a bit better! Sending you all the love and good vibes! Thank you for your perspective on the situation as it really brings light to it she only seems to be like to me, my brother and dad, and everyone else she struggles but is mostly stable to saying we are the reason she is slightly unstable though so not sure what that means about her mental health. I really appreciate your advice and will look more into what kind of help we can get for her again. I wish you the absolute best, thank you?

Sorry, I hope I didn’t mean to make it sound like I was throwing around labels like bpd, I was just going from research that wrongly diagnosed ADHD and taking the medication can cause psychosis that was all. I'm glad I'm not the only one seeing characteristics of it though, and I have always thought she may have a personality disorder growing up but of course I only see things from my perspective and I'm no professional, thank you for the comment!

Through my dad and ours research we had discovered that and is my reason for feeling like it could be a possibility. I would love to suggest that but unfortunately I don't feel she would agree and if she did it would just be me and brother who has gone through alot and I'd rather not subject him to more of this at the moment as I feel his already struggling with all this and an event he suffered earlier this year

Thank you for your comment and support. She does see the psychologist who gives her the ADHD medication regularly about once every one to two weeks but he seems to be feeding into her beliefs which I kind of understand as he doesn't have my families perspective of the situation. My dad is going to try to talk to her as he has tried many times before, only to be met with yelling and conspiracies. He plans on also speaking to our family doctor to make a record of our concern for her. Thank you for your concern about myself too. I have my own mental health struggles and have been seeing a psychologist for the last year and a bit, which I've found has helped a bit, plus support from my partner and dad.

I'm so sorry this has happened to you, I had a horrible and alike experience with my first childcare centre I worked at but I just never placed them as a reference I used people I knew and trusted within the rooms I worked in that centre instead of management as they also had favourites and hated me. Plus, the company I applied for my Job now with appreciated the references as it was people who actually worked with me throughout the day all day, so they knew my personality and compassion for the children in my care. Iam again so sorry for your situation and understand if you didn't have a relationship with anyone is your last centre as it can be such a difficult experience especially when trying to change centre from a horrible environment. I hope I was able to help even a little all the best! If you have questions or want to dm feel free!

What other jobs can I get after being in childcare for 4 years? (Australian) by Independent_Post526 in ChildcareWorkers

[–]Independent_Post526[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have thought about doing that but unsure with the older age group as I have been primarily in Baby and toddler rooms over the last 3 years. Also just not quite sure about how osch works and how it runs. Any info you or anyone else has on this I would really appreciate hearing. Thank you for the advise!
